Yesterday we had to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to my favourite old girl. We are heartbroken and even though I tried to prepare myself for this moment for a while it is still absolutely devastating. I have some comfort knowing that she is out of pain and will be still working with me every day. She took her role as therapy dog very seriously and I know she was such a big part of my clients lives too. Fly high my sweet girl. Till we meet again ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

I know, I know. “Isn’t Reiki just waving your hands around and hoping for the best?”

Valid question. Slightly offensive. But valid 😂

Let’s break it down without the incense smoke and mystical fog:
Your body is electric. Like… literally.

Your heart creates an electromagnetic field.
Your brain runs on electrical signals.
Your nervous system is basically one big high-speed messaging system.

So when we talk about “energy”… we’re not talking about fairy dust. We’re talking about measurable, biological processes.

Now here’s where Reiki comes in:

✨ It activates the parasympathetic nervous system (aka the “oh thank god I can finally relax” mode)

✨ It reduces stress hormones like cortisol (because your body can’t heal properly when it thinks it’s being chased by a tiger)

✨ It supports heart rate variability (which is a fancy way of saying your body becomes more adaptable and resilient)

✨ It creates a state where the body can actually repair, restore and rebalance itself (that's how incredible our bodies are!)

And here’s the kicker…

Most of my clients come in for their first session, never having experienced a regulated nervous system 🤯

Honestly?
I thought I’d walk away feeling calm, focused and like one of those people who drinks herbal tea and remembers where they put their keys.

Instead… my brain went:
“Cool, thanks for the regulation… now let’s process EVERYTHING we’ve been avoiding since the dawn of time.”

Here’s what actually came up:

- A nervous system that wasn’t just “dysregulated”… it was totally and utterly overloaded
- Years of masking as “high functioning”, running on adrenaline and caffeine and not a lot of dopamine
- A brain that didn’t need fixing… it needed support, safety and the right pace

And the biggest one?

I don’t so much have an attention problem. I have an energy management problem 💡

Once I stopped trying to force my brain to behave like everyone else’s… everything shifted.

✨ More clarity
✨ Less shame
✨ Way more compassion for myself

Kinesiology didn’t “fix” my ADHD (cause tbh, it doesn't need fixing, it's my superpower!)

But it helped me understand it.
Have compassion and grace for myself.
Work with it.
And regulate it... often.

Which is magic for all ND brains everywhere.

If your brain feels like it has 499 tabs open like mine, and one of them is playing music but you can’t find it… I see you (cause...same!).

And yes, there are ways to support yourself that don’t involve forcing yourself into a box you were never designed to fit in to.

Energy healing has had a bad rap over the years.
Society has painted it as “woo-woo”, a bit out there… maybe even something only “spiritual” people do.

But I’m here to gently call that out and breakdown the stereotype.

Because in truth, energy healing is grounded deeply in our biology.

It’s a nervous system shifting out of survival mode.
It’s a body moving from tension into safety.
It’s a system finally getting the signal that it can soften, release and recalibrate.

No smoke and mirrors.

Just a body doing what it was always designed to do… when it finally feels safe enough.

And that’s the part that feels like magic ✨🪄🔮

Some messages don’t just land… they take up a very special place in your heart 🤍

This one came all the way from Switzerland… and I'm not sure I’ll ever forget it!

To know that these stories are being played in homes across the world… that they’ve become part of bedtime, part of connection, part of those quiet little moments at the end of the day…

That kids are not just listening… but feeling, relating, bringing the stories into their own lives…
That’s the magic. That’s the whole reason they exist!

And to this beautiful family and all the families across the globe that listen…
Thank you for letting me be a tiny part of your days and evenings.

To every parent navigating neurodiversity, big feelings, busy brains or sensitive nervous systems…
