We are grateful to have had two copies of "Through Billie's Eyes" by local author Courtney Deaton, donated to us by the office of Reece Whitby MLA.

This beautiful story introduces students to the topic of dementia in a gentle age appropriate way.

It helps build understanding, empathy and compassion as students explore what it might feel like when someone they love begins to forget.

Courtney Deaton Author - Through Billie’s Eyes is donating 10% of her profits from sales of the book to Dementia Australia .

Wetj 4 Maths Fun!

Wetj 4 learnt a fantastic new maths game today—Countdown—and all you need to play at home is two six‑sided dice!

Here’s how it works:

Each player writes down the numbers 1–10.
Take turns rolling the dice and choose to add, subtract, multiply, or divide the two numbers.
Cross out the number you make.
The first player to cross off all their numbers wins!

For example: If you roll a 6 and a 3, you could make:
6 + 3 = 9
6 – 3 = 3
6 ÷ 3 = 2
6 × 3 = 18

So you could cross off 9, 3, or 2.

The students had so much fun learning and practising their number skills at the same time!

Give it a try at home!

Wise with Words 🦉📚

Our before school Wise with Words Literacy program is off to a wonderful start.

Year 1 students are paired with our amazing Year 5 mentors who help them practise blending and segmenting words, build confidence and read their home readers.
It’s been awesome to see the lovely friendships forming and the leadership our Year 5 students are showing.

Its been an owl-standing effort from everyone!🦉✨

Earlier this term, our school was lucky to welcome Sean Raines and the NRL development crew, who ran a series of engaging sessions with some of our classes. The students who took part thoroughly enjoyed the experience and made some great progress in their rugby skills. The start of rugby season is upon us so if you are interested in joining a team check out their home page athttps://nrlwa.com.au/

The year 6 assembly item today was a fun and energetic SunSmart song based on the theme Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek and Slide. They shared an important message about staying safe in the sun while enjoying the outdoors reminding us to slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen, slap on a hat, seek shade, and slide on sunglasses to protect our skin and eyes.

Congratulations to all of our Merit Certificate winners and our Aussie of the Month, Noah G from year 6.

Once again Mr Scicluna and the choir excelled in leading our whole school in a rock medley and the school song.

We are proud to unveil our new school entrance signage by artist Xhai Middleton.

Depicting local flora of Kurulbrang (kangaroo paw), Yorgum (red flowering gum), Kojet (pincushion hakea) and Cara (spider orchid), this signage compliments the artwork Xhai completed last year, after the renaming of our buildings.
