Today our year 6 students were treated to a private screening of Corals' Last Stand.

Coral’s Last Stand, featuring AMCS Patron Tim Winton, tells the story of Scott Reef – its beauty, its importance, and the urgent campaign to save it.

Scott Reef is a remote coral atoll off Western Australia, home to an incredible diversity of marine life – from pygmy blue whales, turtles to vibrant coral gardens. But Woodside wants to drill for gas and dump carbon pollution under the ocean, threatening this fragile ecosystem and the global climate.

📚 Keep the Reading Rolling This Summer!

School holidays are nearly here! While it’s definitely time for a well-earned break, there’s one thing we don’t want taking a holiday… reading! 📚✨
During the long Summer break, children can lose some of the reading progress they’ve worked so hard to build (often called the “Holiday Slide”). But the good news is that just 10 minutes of reading a day can make a huge difference.
If you’re wondering what your child can read at home, here are some fantastic FREE decodable readers you can access anytime:
👉 24 FREE Decodable Readers (Downloadable) – Decodable Readers Australia
👉 Decodable Readers at Home – SPELD NSW
Reading together is quick, simple and helps keep your child learning while still enjoying the holidays.
Happy reading and happy holidays! ☀️📖💛

At assembly on Friday, our Kindy students shared their learning about the six Noongar seasons. They have been exploring the text 'Country Tells Us When' from the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. This story teaches about the six seasons followed by the Yawuru people in Broome. Like the Noongar seasons, these seasons are not marked by a calendar; instead, Country tells us when each one has arrived through what we feel, see, taste, smell, and hear.

Congratulations to all the merit certificate winners and our Aussie of the Month Sophie H.

We also congratulated Joshua M, Lucy M, Sophie G, Hunter T, Emily G, Marley P and Aditya R who have run 100km or more this year at our Runners Club on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Thank you to Mr Scicluna and the Choir for once again leading our school in the Anthem, our school song and community song 'Riptide' by Bruno Mars.

These students have consistently demonstrated respect, responsibility, and leadership in all they do, setting an outstanding example for others. To celebrate their achievements, they joined the Principal for a relaxed and enjoyable lunch.
Congratulations to all those recognised – we are proud of your hard work and the positive impact you make on our school community!

The Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY) is a fun, free, home-based early learning and parenting program. HIPPY is an effective way to support early-childhood learning in the home – delivering great outcomes for children, parents and the community. It works with families with young children in the pre-school years.
Your child must be aged 3 as of the next school year, and you live in the provider's catchment area.
Contact Ngala Rockingham or express interest through website for more information
