Rivergums Primary School- AFL Jumper Design Competition

Last term several classes could not go outside to do Physical Education due to the bad weather. During this time, we participated in Design A Jumper for your school held by Western Australia Football Commission.

Students needed to pay attention to local landmarks, their school ethos and location as well as population demographics when constructing their design.

Here are the designs that made it to Final 8.

Next week I will publish the 2 designs that were sent away to represent our school in the Statewide competition.

Thanks Mr Smith

Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students helped Mark and Julieanne from Tucker Bush Schools Program to create a Rivergums Bush Tucker Garden on our school oval.
This garden will support all students and staff to explore Indigenous knowledges through science, maths, literacy and design as they work within year levels to map, measure, monitor and research these growing plants.

A big thanks to our gardening staff Steve and Mark for getting the garden ready for today!
