History
Balgal Beach Medical Practice or BBMP, is located in the suburb of Balgal Beach, 58 kilometers north of Townsville in North Queensland. It is the third clinic opened by Dr Vladimir Hasa and his wife, Dr Olga Hasa, whose other practices include Bluewater Medical Practice which opened in 1996 and the Bushland Beach Medical Centre which opened in 2006.
This medical service began as a half day clinic, held twice weekly, at the Rollingstone & District Community Centre. This clinic, known as the Rollingstone Medical Centre or RMC, began in 2011 and operated for over 18 months with one GP and one RN travelling the round trip of 60 kilometres on clinic days, from the primary practice, Bluewater Medical Practice.
The Balgal Beach Medical Practice opened on 29th August 2016, and includes four consulting rooms, a three-bed treatment room, a meeting room, pathology collection centre and a pharmacy. It is a RRMA 5 or RA3 category and is within the North Queensland Primary Health Network.
