ST & A Psychology, is a private practice based in Manly Vale with 4 individual therapy rooms, reception, waiting room, Kitchen and toliet facilities. Established in 2005, the practice brings quality individual, relationship and family therapy to adults, children, and adolescents with a broad range of issues including disorders of behaviour (odd, adhd), adjustment, mood, anxiety, psychosis, personality, addiction, as well as problems with parenting, grief, self esteem, relating, body image/eating disorders, stress, pain, identity, and satisfaction with life.
Our Practice prides itself on building strong therapeutic relationships with our clients, having excellent client retention rates (so your clients do not prematurely terminate therapy before fully benefitting) and strong working relationships with our referrers along with excellent treatment outcomes, fantastic client satisfaction feedback and customer service excellence. Most clients of the service are referred under Medicare's Better Access Scheme, a few are referred via worker's compensation, whilst some claim through private health or pay out of their pocket.
Due to excellent treatment outcomes and client satisfaction, the 5 Psychologists working in the practice can no longer service the growing number of new referrals. We are seeking a Psychologist to join us to become a valued and respected, integral, member of this growing team. The successful applicant will enjoy flexible hours, excellent remuneration, fortnightly individual supervision/case consultation in ACT, CFT, CBT Schema, Psychodynamic and MI Models, excellent administrative and collegial support so you can focus on excellent assessment, therapy, reports and liaising with GP's and referrers as necessary/helpful, in a truly supportive, warm, fun, caring, experienced clinical team.
Job Description:
Commencing either part time or full time with 2, 3, 4 or 5 days per week at Manly Vale, as a contract psychologist, with a view, if desired, to stick with 2-3, or build to 4-5 days/week (2-3 minimum), the suitable candidate will conduct assessments and implement psychological therapy, as well as liaise with other treating health professionals in person, by phone, email and reports. Although evidence-based approaches (particularly ACT, CFT, DBT, Narrative, CBT, Schema and MI ) within an integrative model is valued, and at times required, freedom to choose the modalities you wish to work with is encouraged.
Referrals are provided, however an active approach to meeting with, calling and liaising with referrers to market yourself and the practice with the clinical director and other team members will be necessary as well as contributing to marketing yourself via e learning videos. There is an opportunity also, over time, to become a part business owner and/or Clinical Team leader, or principle psychologist for the suitable contractor with the right personality, professionalism, drive and commitment.
Essential criteria:
Fully registered with the Australian Psychology Board + AHPRA
Professional indemnity + public liability insurance
Competence in CBT, some experience/willingness with other therapies in particular Mindfulness based therapies, ACT, CFT, Schema, DBT, MI
Registered with Medicare as a provider of psychology items
Clinical experience with a wide range of presentations/issues
Able to work autonomously + part of a team with enthusiasm + reliability
Excellent written + oral communication skills
A Professional, willing, flexible, open, collaborative, + committed attitude
A warm, friendly, helpful, caring approach to go the extra mile
After hours availability at least 1 day per week.
Ability to develop and foster relationships with referrers
Excellent treatment outcomes
Excellent organizational and Time Management Skills
Commitment to Growth and Development as a Psychologist and person
Desirable criteria
Experience with one or more other models of ACT, DBT, Schema Therapy, MI, CFT and mindfulness
Clinical Endorsement or working towards
Experience in working with children, adolescents and/or couples.
Workcover approved.
Previous private practice experience and/or Medicare MHCP work
