In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), “excessive dampness” refers to a condition where damp evil (湿邪) accumulates in the body. This can be caused by external factors like living in a humid environment or getting caught in the rain, or internal factors like poor diet (especially eating too much cold or greasy food), weak digestion, and lack of physical activity.
General symptoms:
• Heaviness in the body, feeling tired and sluggish
• Brain fog, dizziness, difficulty concentrating
• Low energy, constant fatigue or sleepiness
Digestive issues:
• Poor appetite
• Bloating, loose stools, or sticky bowel movements
• Thick, greasy tongue coating (a common TCM indicator)
Skin and appearance:
• Oily skin, acne, dull complexion
• Skin rashes or itching
• Excessive sweating
Limbs and joints:
• Heaviness or soreness in the arms and legs
• Joint stiffness or swelling, especially in the lower body
TCM therapy: Acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, and massage can help balance internal dampness.
If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, please book an appointment as soon as possible.
