🎱Mates Day at the Golf House Hotel🎱

Last month our amazing participants headed out to the Golf House Hotel in Ballarat for another participant‑led Mates Day. Over a refreshment (or two!), everyone enjoyed a few friendly rounds of pool, plenty of laughs and some great conversations.

The energy was so good that even other patrons joined in on the fun — a real community moment that reminded us why these outings matter.

🌿Nature Connection🌿

Last week our amazing participants, alongside Clinton and Michaela, spent the day connecting with nature at Hepburn Mineral Springs Reserve and Sailors Falls in Daylesford.

They pumped fresh mineral water straight from the spring taps, took in the sights and sounds of the waterfall and immersed themselves in the surrounding wildlife and native flora. With the sun shining, it was the perfect opportunity to capture some great photos and enjoy the outdoors.

This outing is part of our refreshed day programs—designed to get participants out and about, exploring our beautiful landscape and engaging meaningfully with the world around them.

We love seeing our participants engaging with the community and enjoying what our wonderful region has to offer!

Some of our amazing participants took the trip to the big smoke to visit Scienceworks Museum yesterday. It was an engaging but sensory‑calming environment for them, offering the perfect balance of excitement and comfort. Our group explored hands‑on exhibits, experimented with interactive displays and discovered the wonders of science in a way that felt safe, fun and empowering.

From learning about space and motion to trying out the sports lab and wandering through the lighting and sound installations, each participant was able to engage at their own pace and follow their curiosity. Beyond the learning, the day was a fantastic opportunity for community engagement, navigating public spaces, sharing conversations, building confidence in new environments and enjoying a meaningful day out together.

Excursions like this remind us just how capable our participants are when given the right support and the right setting to shine.

We’d love to send a huge congratulations to our amazing support worker Britt and her partner Robert on the arrival of their beautiful daughter, Ella May.

We were treated to a surprise visit at the Hub this morning and our hearts absolutely melted. There’s something so special about those newborn cuddles — they just hit differently. Celebrating new life and supporting our team through the adventures of parenthood is incredibly important to us.

And judging by this grin, we’d say someone is having a pretty amazing time.

In December, our wonderful participant Fiona and her Support Worker Ellie embraced the festive spirit by attending the Power FM Christmas lights display in Ballarat, a beloved annual tradition that transforms the city into a wonderland of colour and cheer.

Fiona wandered through illuminated streets, marvelling at the dazzling reindeer sculptures, glowing trees and whimsical inflatables that lit up the night. The atmosphere was electric with laughter and brought so much joy to Fiona. Ellie snapped photos while Fiona posed with Santa cutouts and oversized candy canes, both their smiles reflecting the joy of the season.

Its moments like these that warms our heart and makes us so happy to see our participants enjoying all the magical things that make Christmas special.
