We are pleased to announce that we are launching NightWatch+ within the next several weeks. This is the successor to the original NightWatch, which has been on the market since 2018. Once NightWatch+ is launched, the original NightWatch will no longer be available. Spare parts will of course, remain available.

NightWatch+ brings the same high level of seizure detection, but meets the requirements of a higher safety class, registered with the TGA as a class IIa.

It also offers a number of improvements that benefit both wearers and healthcare providers. In the images, we outline the changes so you can assess the product and determine its suitability.

Let’s talk about SUDEP | Because awareness empowers action.

SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) is rare, but understanding the risk factors can help people living with epilepsy stay safer.

👉 It’s most likely to occur during or after a seizure, particularly at night
👉 Those with frequent tonic-clonic seizures may be more at risk
👉 Tools like seizure alert devices, medication routines, and safety plans can make a difference

By sharing knowledge and encouraging open conversations, we can support safer outcomes for people with epilepsy and their families.

đź’ś Stay informed. Stay prepared. Stay connected.

🧠 Not all seizures are the same and understanding the difference is important.

Seizures are grouped into two main types:

🔹 Partial (Focal) Seizures – These begin in one specific area of the brain. The person may remain aware or become confused, and the symptoms can vary depending on which part of the brain is affected.

🔹 Generalised Seizures – These affect both sides of the brain at once and often involve a loss of consciousness, muscle stiffness, or jerking movements.

Raising awareness of the different types of seizures helps reduce stigma, improves response in emergencies, and ensures people living with epilepsy get the care and understanding they deserve. đź’ś

The recent changes to NDIS funding for assistive technology aim to improve accessibility and streamline the approval process, especially for low-cost devices, while still ensuring that more advanced technology can be funded when necessary. Understanding the low, mid, and high-range funding categories can help you plan and make informed decisions about the best seizure support equipment for your needs. Whether you need a simple alert device or a more sophisticated monitoring system, the NDIS is here to help make sure that the technology you use is both effective and supported.
