2 Blokes Coffee Roasting started exactly how many great ideas do — a weekend away, a few beers, and a shared love of good coffee. What began as a passion project has grown into a fantastic local roasting venture led by Marc, who continues to push the journey forward.

At Trident, we love backing small businesses that turn passion into something real. Recently we helped Marc finance a new Bellwether Shop Roaster — an all-electric, ventless, automatic roasting system that allows beans to be roasted on demand, producing up to 20kg at the touch of a button.

When you are sleep deprived, your brain will get foggy and will start to change how you see the world.

Research shows a tired brain will remember negative experiences over positive ones.

This creates a theoretical emotional tunnel where your worldview is skewed and filtered through negativity.

This happens because our brain is running on “low battery” and prioritises threats over joy. We are programmed to survive so joy or happiness are not essential to survival like noticing threats or danger.

Chronic sleep loss will distort your memory, fuel anxiety, and feed depressive thinking.

Infinite MMA is proud to host Left Write Hook, a groundbreaking 8-week boxing and writing program created for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and complex trauma.

Boxing Coach Elle has spent the last 8 weeks running Left Write Hook here in Ballarat, and we are honoured to be the first location outside Melbourne to run this transformative program.

This program is both research and trauma-informed, and provides a safe, private, and inclusive space where participants are invited to write, box and share, as they break down the silence and shame of childhood sexual abuse and trauma 🤜💥

As we come to the conclusion of our first series, we hope to spread the word to the Ballarat community. My 58 (116) Squat Challenge for breast cancer research

58 Australians will be diagnosed with breast cancer today and a further 9 will die. I want to make a difference to the lives of those 58 Australians impacted by the disease - that is why I am taking on the 58 Squat Challenge to raise vital funds for world-class breast cancer research. But I need your help.

Please support my squat challenge to save lives and make a difference.

Every donation, big or small, will get me closer to reaching my goal and helping the National Breast Cancer Foundation end deaths from breast cancer.

This year, I returned to formal education, diving into the first year of my Master of Counselling at Monash University. Balancing studies with running (effectively) a start-up business (with five amazing staff) and managing a full myotherapy caseload has been a massive challenge.

But with the unwavering support of my family and incredible team, I’ve made it through! One year down, and I couldn’t be prouder of the journey so far. Several more years to go—but I’m ready for it!

Here’s to growth, resilience, and chasing big dreams. 🌟

Please note that Ballarat's Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (formerly known as the Priority Primary Care Centre) has moved as of today, Monday November 18. The clinic has now moved to larger premises at 1010 Sturt Street, above the Sturt Street West UFS Pharmacy. Opening hours have also been extended to 9am-11pm every day of the year.

ABOUT THE BALLARAT URGENT CARE CLINIC

Providing urgent care, when it’s not an emergency.

The Ballarat UCC provides medical care when it’s urgent but not an emergency. The centre is staffed by a team of GPs and nurses to provide immediate medical care for non life-threatening injuries or illnesses.

Medical staff will assess you when you arrive and we will ensure you receive appropriate care. If you need specialist attention we will help you get to a nearby emergency department.

Care is available for everyone, with or without a Medicare card.

Please note: The UCC is not a substitute for your usual general practice clinic. If you require a normal GP consultation, including for repeat prescriptions, you will need to contact your regular GP.
