Ever wonder why your breasts feel bruised, lumpy, or tender when feeding?

It could be a blocked duct — and it can happen fast.

🍈 Your breast tissue is full of delicate little sacs and ducts.
When compressed (from tight bras, rushed massage, poor latch, or even fingers pressing too hard), those tiny ducts can get blocked.

🔒 Blocked ducts = pain, swelling, lumps… and sometimes mastitis.
Stress, skipped feeds, or busy family visits can trigger it too.

What helps?
🌡️ Therapeutic ultrasound (gentle + targeted)
💆‍♀️ Soft drainage massage (not deep tissue!)
📌 Kinesiotape or Tubigrip for support
🍼 Feed or express often
🌿 Heat before / Cold after

⏳ Still blocked after 12 hours? Don’t wait. Mastitis can develop quickly.

💡 At Back In Motion Melton & Bacchus Marsh, our women’s health physios can help relieve pain, clear the blockage and prevent it from coming back. Baby is welcome at your session 💗

Do you get sticky poo, keep wiping, and still don’t feel clean?
Do you get a**l cuts or painful fissures? A sore bum from all that wiping?

Let’s talk about why this happens — and how to fix it.

💩 Common Causes:

1. Low Fibre Intake
Not enough vegetables or fibre in your diet? Your stool may be too soft or sticky.
➡️ Solution: Add more fibre-rich foods (veggies, legumes, wholegrains). Fibre helps bulk and bind your stool for easier wiping.

2. Rough Wiping with Dry Toilet Paper
Excessive wiping can irritate the skin, cause small tears (fissures), and leave you feeling sore.

💧 Try the Cheeky Squirter Gel

A gentle gel you can sq**rt directly onto toilet paper — turning it into a soothing, moist wipe.
✅ Reduces friction
✅ Soothes the area
✅ Helps you feel cleaner, with less wiping

Perfect for sensitive skin, fissures, or if you just want a more comfortable clean.

🔸 Bowel Health & Continence Week 🔸

This week, we’re shining a light on topics we often shy away from—but that matter deeply to our health and quality of life.

💬 Our Pelvic Health Physiotherapist, Sanhita recently led an interactive session at a local Pilates studio in Melton opening up conversations around:

Bowel and bladder health

Pelvic floor awareness

Movement strategies to support continence

Let’s keep the dialogue going—because good health starts from the core. 💪

🟦 June is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month! 🟦

Did you know bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in Australia? The good news: over 90% of cases can be successfully treated if found early.

What to look out for:
🔹 Changes in bowel habits in past 3 months (runny poo, constipation, feeling of incomplete emptying).
🔹 Blood in your poo (Bright red or very dark red color).
🔹 Unexplained weight loss.
🔹 Abdominal pain or cramping
🔹 Unexplained tiredness, anaemia.

Who’s at risk?
Anyone! But risk increases with age, family history, and lifestyle factors like a low-fibre diet, being overweight, smoking, or drinking alcohol.

Take action this June:
✅ If you’re 45 or older, do your free bowel cancer screening test
✅ Eat more fibre-rich foods (fruits, veggies, whole grains)
✅ Stay active and maintain a healthy weight
✅ Talk to your local GP if you notice any symptoms

Let’s break the stigma—talk about bowel health with your mates and family. Early detection saves lives!

🔵 Men’s Health Week – Day 2 🔵
Spotlight on Prostate Health

The prostate may be small, but its impact is big—especially on urinary and sexual health.

🧠 Why it matters:

1 in 6 Australian men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer

Prostate enlargement or inflammation can affect bladder control and comfort

Early signs are often overlooked

👨‍⚕️ Common warning signs to watch for:

Urinary dribbling or weak stream

Split stream (urine coming out in two directions)

Difficulty starting or maintaining flow

Double voiding (needing to urinate again shortly after finishing)

Urgency, frequency, or waking up at night to urinate

Pelvic heaviness or discomfort

✅ What you can do:

Know your family history and risk factors

Talk to your GP about PSA testing from age 50 (or earlier if you're at risk)

Don’t ignore bladder or sexual changes

Pelvic floor physiotherapy can support bladder control and help after surgery.

🗣️ It’s time to speak up and check in.
Prostate health is men’s health.
