Recently OT Emma facilitated a successful hoist and manual handling training session for aged care workers! 👴🏼👵🏾 🦼🦽

The session consisted of an introduction to manual handling, a review of transfer aids, and a practical component at the end where the carers were able to practice the skills 👏😊 The attendees finished the session with a certificate of attendance and of course a Freddo frog!

In sessions UNO can be used to promote turn taking, social learning, communication and emotional regulation skills 👏👏

UNO offers a natural way to explore those feelings around winning and losing, the game becomes a safe space to practise and develop emotional regulation skills!!! 🧠😊🤔

Our wonderful speechie Annabelle is working with a client that has recently taken up a volunteer position at Riding for the Disabled (RDA) at the Ballarat Equestrian Centre! Annabelle and her client had a wonderful time, even meeting all 12 horses 🐴

This is a wonderful example of the diverse nature of what sessions can look like!

Today we said goodbye to our wonderful placement student Desiree!

We had the pleasure of having Desiree as a part of the OT Dynamics team for 8 weeks, working alongside both our adult and paediatric team.

Desiree was able to expand on her knowledge, clinical decision making, practice skills, and OT toolkit.

We hope Desiree all the best for her final studies and a wonderful graduation! 🥳🎓😄
