We are locally owned and operated, with our training centre located in Ballarat Servicing Victoria, First Aid Training Group aims to provide an exceptionally high standard of hands-on, interactive, meaningful and most importantly confidence-boosting training to all of our participants. Training is facilitated exclusively by industry professionals, all with years of real-life experience such as Par

amedics, Fire Fighters, Emergency First Responders and Nurses. We conduct regular courses in all levels of first aid for all groups and often customise training to suit the needs of our clients. We employ a very different approach to training through highly interactive blended styles. Our courses captivate and empower participants through confidence-building coaching from start to finish. Introducing our newest addition 🚐

This is something we’ve been working on behind the scenes for a while, so it’s exciting to finally have our Event Medical vehicle ready to go. You may have already seen it driving around Ballarat!

This means we can better support events across our community, with quicker response times and more resources on hand when it matters most.

From local sporting events to community functions, we’re here to help keep things running safely.

We are at the Ballarat Out Leisure and Camping Show all weekend. Come down and say hello to the team at 6 Rose Hill Road, Mount Rowan.

Pick up a kit for your camping rig, fit out your van with an extinguisher or fire blanket, or discuss your defibrillator needs. We can even talk with you about your training needs.

We are here from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day.

When delivering the PUAFER008 – Confine small emergencies in a facility course, we use a range of training methods to give participants practical experience using fire extinguishers.

One of these options is our BullEx simulated fire system, pictured here. This virtual fire training system allows participants to practice identifying and extinguishing different types of fires safely indoors, while still providing realistic feedback.

Depending on the training location and conditions, we may use one of three practical training methods:

🔥 BullEx virtual fire system – indoor simulated fire training
🔥 Live fire in a gas tray – using water extinguishers (conditions permitting)
🔥 Simulated fire using traffic cones – outdoor extinguisher practice

Live fire training is always our preferred option when conditions allow. However, factors such as total fire bans, weather conditions, or permit restrictions from the Country Fire Authority (CFA) may require us to use one of the alternative methods.

No matter the method, participants still gain the confidence and skills needed to respond to small workplace fire emergencies safely.

Everyone learns differently which is why we offer two ways to complete your First Aid and CPR training.

✔ Blended learning – complete some theory online, then attend a shorter in-person practical session.
✔ Face-to-face training – complete the entire course in the classroom with the trainer.

Course timings:

CPR
Blended: 1–1.5hrs online + 1hr 15min in person
Face-to-face: 3hrs in person

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
Blended: 1.5–2hrs online + 3hrs in person
Face-to-face: 7hrs in person

HLTAID012 First Aid in an Education & Care Setting
Blended: approx 2hrs online + 3.5hrs in person
Face-to-face: 7.5hrs in person

Whether you prefer the flexibility of online learning or completing everything in the classroom with a trainer, we’ve got an option to suit.

It was such a great evening, and we loved seeing so many people taking the time to build their confidence around baby and child first aid.

A very special send-off for Sarah as she heads off on maternity leave 💐

Sarah has been an incredibly valued part of our team for the past 5 years. Her dedication, care, and the positive impact she has every day never goes unnoticed.
