Biala Support Services Ltd provides services for children and adults living with disability.

Biala is an NDIS provider and also operates an independently funded school for young people with disability. For over 50 years, Biala has been supporting people with disability and their families to live the best lives possible. We provide a number of different services to assist people to access the community, engage socially with others, live independently, provide assistance with daily living, access supports to transition from school into employment, respite and a warm hydrotherapy pool. From swimming, bowling and an Easter egg hunt to pizza party, BBQ and a visit to Summerland Farm, we have a great lineup of activities to keep everyone active, creative and engaged these holidays.

Purple for a purpose 💜
Today, at Biala we proudly wore purple to support Make March Purple for Epilepsy.
We are passionate about building awareness, understanding and inclusion for the people and families impacted by epilepsy. We are proud to stand alongside this important initiative and help shine a light on the experiences of the many Australians living with epilepsy. Together, we can help create a more supportive, informed and inclusive community.

When Marlin’s in the zone, there’s no stopping him! These photos show just how productive he is when supported to stay on task and it’s all thanks to Biala’s Employment Support program.

Through partnerships with inclusive local businesses like Ward’s Landscape Supplies, participants like Marlin are gaining real-world experience, building confidence, and proving what’s possible when everyone gets a fair go 💪🏼

We’re proud of Marlin’s efforts and grateful to the team at Ward’s for fostering a workplace where all abilities are welcomed and valued.

Mason, Lisa, Ben and June had a wonderful night out at Ballina Players, enjoying the Anne of Green Gables theatre production 🎭💙

The story of Anne reminded us how kindness, imagination and connection can change lives for the better; something our social group experience through shared moments like this.

From laughter to storytelling and being part of the local arts community, it was a night thoroughly enjoyed by all.

A heartfelt thank you to the Country Women's Association (CWA) of NSW Ballina, who welcomed us with a beautiful morning tea and a generous donation for Biala School.

The CWA work tirelessly all year to give back to the community, and their support means so much to our students, families and staff.
