In moments like this, we’re reminded how important it is to slow down, stay connected, and care for one another. For that reason, we’re holding the studio open today as a place of grounding, breath, and quiet support.

If coming to class feels nourishing — a way to return to your body, steady your nervous system, or simply be held in shared space — you’re very welcome to join us.

If rest, distance, or time away feels more supportive right now, please know there is no pressure at all. Take exactly what you need. We’re here when you’re ready.

✨ We’re Here for You This Holiday Season ✨

December arrives and suddenly everything speeds up — social plans, work deadlines, family gatherings, and the general buzz of the season. It’s so easy for your practice to slide… but this is actually when you need it most.

We’ll be running a slightly reduced schedule from mid-December to January, and we’re only closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Every other day, our shala is open, warm and ready to support you.

Why staying consistent matters
In yogic philosophy, this time of year is full of rajas — fast, busy, fiery energy. Without grounding practices, it’s easy to feel scattered or overwhelmed.

A regular practice — even one or two classes a week — helps you:

End-of-year work deadlines, social events, school festivities, family commitments — it all arrives at once. And without noticing, the first thing many of us drop is the one thing that keeps us centred: our practice.

But here’s the truth…
This season needs your steadiness more than any other.
In yogic philosophy, this time of year mirrors rajas — the energy of movement, doing, stimulation, and momentum. It’s bright, buzzy, exciting… and exhausting.
To balance rajas, we need grounding, breath, presence, and ritual.

Balmain Festival Takes Over This Sunday! 🎉✨

This Sunday, the Inner West Council is bringing the Balmain Festival to life — a huge community celebration right on our doorstep! Expect food stalls, live music, local makers, and an incredible buzz along Darling Street.

Because a large stretch of the street will be closed for the event, we’ll be keeping our doors open throughout the day to welcome festival-goers, offer a peek into our beautiful studio, and connect with our community.
If you’re wandering past, please stop by and say hello — we’d love to meet your friends and family too!

To maintain the quality of your practice (and because the joyful noise of the festival doesn’t always pair well with deep zen), we’ve cancelled our 11:00am and 4:00pm classes this Sunday.
Your peace matters — and we want every class to feel truly supportive, spacious, and calm.

We usually treat movement as something we do — poses to copy, sequences to follow, strength to build.
But yoga teaches something deeper:
✨ Movement is communication.

Every stretch, wobble, sigh, crack, or moment of stillness…
your body is speaking.

Maybe that tightness isn’t just “tightness” — it’s a boundary you forgot to set.
