They’re both signs of a compromised airway.

A child may snore because of enlarged tonsils or adenoids and/or because they anatomically have a small jaw and airway. The strength of the oral muscles can also contribute to snoring and the inability to maintain a closed mouth posture when sleeping.

Teeth grinding can be one of the body’s mechanisms to attempt to open the airway in order to make nasal breathing possible.
