Moving through Java , the people, places and food a delight. From street stalls, to pacing it out through the volcanic sand, drifting through the aroma on the streets.

A simple life, slow, steady and always with a smile.

When you’re nearing the end of pregnancy, every sensation matters. If your baby is breech, posterior, or labour has started but progress is stalling, your body may be signalling a need for deeper support. This is where moxibustion, a powerful and ancient practice from Traditional Chinese Medicine, can help guide things back into flow.

I offer a deeply intuitive and science-informed approach to working with breech or posterior babies, pro-dromal labour, and mothers wanting to avoid induction. Combining moxibustion, acupuncture, and energetic realignment to create space, for both baby and body to respond

While the ideal time to begin moxa is between 34 and 36 weeks, I work with women right up until labour to support movement and alignment. If your baby hasn’t turned or you’re experiencing long, drawn-out pre-labour without change, this is often your body’s way of asking for help.

If you’re feeling unsure about your baby’s position or if you’re approaching birth and things aren’t progressing, book an acupuncture session to support you.

Acupuncture at the sacral points is theorised to stimulate uterine contractility through two pathways , central oxytocin release, and parasympathetic activation of the uterus itself.

The Cochrane Collaboration 2017 systemic review of 17 randomised trials (3262 women) found that acupuncture compared to no acupuncture or usual care was associated with an increase in the rate of spontaneous onset of labour, and showed measurable benefit in improving cervical readiness as assessed by the Bishop’s score.

In the energetic map in Chinese medicine, the convergence happens not at the head, but at the spine. The sacrum is the gateway between and above, between the world and the womb. It is the seat not of rational thought, but of the deepest, most primal intelligence: the body’s wisdom to create and release life .

Relaxing into labour and the beauty of the body!

As a mother, you learn many things.
You learn to walk beside your child,
not in front and not behind.
Meeting them in that generous present moment of where they are. To witness, to support, and to gently guide.

You are here to observe as they shape their own future, to hold the joy, the love, the sadness, and the moments of grief.
More importantly, to rest in a deep and quiet acceptance of who they are becoming.

To observe how they choose in each moment presence over pressure, grace over force,
and truth over expectation.

There is something so quiet and sacred in being with your child in this moment, just as it is, watching who they are becoming gently unfold. Not something to rush, not something to shape but something to honour, together.

A photo from over 20 years ago with my daughter Miss Milla-Kate, who I have learnt so much from in being a mother xx
