When someone tells us their hearing aids are broken…most of the time, they’re not.

It’s usually that the patient has been let down somewhere along the way.

1️⃣ Not fitted properly

Hearing aids must be programmed precisely to your hearing loss.

If they were rushed, under-programmed, or never fine-tuned after the first fitting… they won’t perform.

That’s not a device problem. That’s a fitting problem.

2️⃣ Not the right device

Not all hearing aids are equal and not all are suited to every lifestyle.

If you’re active, social, in meetings, at family dinners, you need technology that matches that.

Choosing purely on price or brand contract rarely works long term.

3️⃣ Not maintained

These are tiny computers living in a warm, waxy, humid environment.

They need servicing. Filters need changing. Microphones need cleaning.

No maintenance = poor performance.

4️⃣ Not explained properly

When I founded Active Audiology in 2011, the need to be independent and ethical was a priority. An independent audiologist has the freedom to prescribe any hearing device that is best suited to your hearing needs. Unbiased brand choice and advice is only possible when a company is not controlled or owned by any hearing aid maker.

I sincerely believe that ethical and unbiased clinical expertise is essential to the integrity of our profession and for delivering the best service to you.

The right hearing solution also comes from years of experience and ongoing education. We pride ourselves on selecting clinicians that are not just academically outstanding, but are motivated to continue their ongoing education in hearing health research. We undergo regular training across the latest for all major brands so we can program every hearing device for optimal performance.
