🌏 A NEW GOVERNMENT—SAME OLD GAS?

Australia just voted for change. But while Labor rides a wave of support for climate action, Woodside Energy charges ahead with the Scarborough gas project—a fossil fuel monster expected to pump out 1.3 BILLION tonnes of emissions over its lifetime. That’s more than Australia emits in an entire year.

And it’s happening right next to Murujuga, a sacred cultural site with over a million ancient rock carvings—some over 50,000 years old. Industrial emissions already threaten this priceless heritage, and now Woodside wants to ramp things up.

Labor promised climate leadership. But actions speak louder than speeches.

The previous government greenlit this project. Now it’s on Labor to draw the line.

Rejecting Scarborough would show Australia—and the world—that we’re serious about protecting both our environment and our oldest living culture.

Backing it? That would be business as usual, wrapped in green spin.

You can’t claim to fight climate change while approving a carbon bomb.

You can’t protect culture while sacrificing the world’s oldest outdoor art gallery for profit.

The Practical Realist Party demands:
– The immediate suspension of Scarborough gas approvals
– A parliamentary inquiry into cultural and climate impacts
– A fast-tracked transition plan to renewables and storage

We voted for a future. Not another fossil fuel fix.

Hey Labor—don’t betray the mandate. Reject Scarborough. Lead the way.

The Organic Consumers Association Australia - Protecting & advancing the interests of organic consumers. The organic industry is enjoying boom times as ordinary people become more aware of the dangers of 'conventional' farming. There are now a proliferation of organic certification and organic industry associations but these have grown increasingly profit-driven and professionalised in recent years. OCAA is a non-profit grass roots association representing the interests of Australian organic consumers, seeking to put health and sustainability first.

Foods labeled "Certified Organic" have become the gold standard for health and sustainability. But unfortunately, as the organic market expands, big corporations, especially those that gobble up organic brands, are constantly seeking to change the rules so they can label more of their products “organic.” This has led to erosion of both organic standards and consumer trust in the organic label for products such as eggs, milk and even grains. OCAA is committed to exposing the fraudulent players in the organic industry, while working fighting for stronger, not weaker, certified organic standards.

We’re still a start up group of volunteers and we need a critical mass of members to become a recognised force in the industry and have influence on refocusing the industry on the needs and values of the most important stakeholders - the consumers.

Support the Organic Consumers Association of Australia to

* ensure consumer interests are represented at all levels of management of organic including standards, certification, & marketing.

* support existing organic farmers & encourage public policy that supports more conversion of farmland to organic.

* defend all organic standards including avoidance of harmful inputs, regenerative management of land, humane treatment of animals & fair trade.

* keep pesticides away from food & protect the environment.

* encourage domestic regulation. Current Australian consumer law can regulate organic claims, but lacks specific organic legislation so there is little surveillance of the market, especially imported products; some products are uncertified; complaints are rarely pursued.

* Fight forces that want to lower standards to permit soilless growing systems, allow synthetic chemicals, intensify animal keeping, accept GMO contamination, & remove environmental care obligations of certified organic production.

Join us - help protect the integrity of organic production & encourage conversion to organic, for the benefit of human health & the environment.
