While both the cold and flu share similar symptoms, there are a few key differences that can help you figure out what you’re dealing with:

✔️ Ear tugging or pain
✔️ Fever
✔️ Fluid from the ear
✔️ Irritability or hearing trouble

See a doctor if symptoms last more than 1–2 days, there’s swelling behind the ear, or your child is under 3 months with a fever.
