βœ‰οΈ A Message from our CEO Ismail Davids

Assalamu Alaykum,
We find ourselves in truly trying times. The world is filled with an unsettling number of deaths, catastrophes, heartaches, and hypocrisy. Many of us are grappling with emotional and spiritual challenges. While it's clear that the difficulties we face can't be compared to the immense struggles our beloved brothers and sisters in Palestine are enduring, it's essential that we also prioritise self-care and resilience.
At NZF, we understand that thousands of Muslims right here in Australia are struggling to cope with these challenges. To address this, we've collaborated with our partners who are prepared to offer the following services:

β€’ Deliver your charity to our brothers and sisters in Gaza
Islamic Relief Australia
β€’ Mental health counselling
psychCentral Psychological & Allied Health Services

Furthermore, we are currently in discussions with several other partners who specialise in mentoring and counselling to meet the increasing demand, including the needs of children. If you feel that you would like guidance from an Imam, please reach out to your local Imam while we work on putting together a more tailored service with many of our Imams across Australia.

Each of us has our unique coping mechanisms for challenging situations, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. It's crucial not to judge those who choose not to immerse themselves in the continuous stream of media and videos. Personally, I have found solace through the following actions:

β€’ I have refrained from watching untrustworthy news.
β€’ I no longer listen to the radio.
β€’ I selectively engage with content from respected scholars who offer guidance on coping and finding strength.
β€’ I've increased my attendance at the mosque, particularly those that include the Qunoot in their prayers.
β€’ I ensure not to miss the Fajr prayer at the mosque.
β€’ I dedicate more time to reading the Quran.
β€’ I make daily supplications for Palestine during my prostrations.

I hope this can offer some assistance in its own small way. May Allah protect us all and spare us from such arduous tests. Ameen.

You should speak with your doctor about your symptoms if they are ongoing. Your GP then may be able to refer you to additional support through a Post COVID support program.
What is the Post COVID support program ?
This is a program for people in Western Sydney who have been diagnosed by their GP as requiring mental and physical health support to reduce the impact of ongoing COVID symptoms and increase health and wellbeing.
Psychcental have been funded by WentWest PHN to provide this support for eligible people in Western Sydney and this support would be of no cost to you, your loved one or person you support.
How would support help me?
By working with mental health and allied health professionals Psychcentral will be able to offer a supported, well rounded and tailored care that would benefit both your physical and mental health and would work closely with you and your doctor to ensure these approaches have a positive effect on reducing some of the debilitating effects due to post-COVID symptoms.
I think this program might be for me, what do I do next?
You should make an appointment to speak with your GP, mentioning this project and if they are unaware of this project.
No Medicare necessary. Just a referral from your GP that satisfies criteria for the referral.
