An ADHD diagnosis is not a label — it’s insight 🤍

It helps you better understand your child’s unique way of thinking, learning, and experiencing the world, so you can support them in ways that truly work.

There are many ways to support a child with ADHD — routines, school adjustments, connection, and skill-building. Medication is just one option, not the only path.

If you’ve been considering an assessment or have questions, we’re here to help.

Validate first, guide second. When teens feel understood, they’re more open to support and direction 🤍

Try saying:
“I can see this is really hard for you. I’m here to listen - we can figure it out together.”

🧠 Understanding IQ Testing 🧠

IQ tests measure a child’s cognitive abilities, including reasoning, problem-solving, memory, processing speed, and verbal & visual-spatial skills. They can help identify your child’s strengths, areas for support, giftedness, and even guide the assessment of learning difficulties, ADHD, or intellectual disabilities.

These tests are usually appropriate for children from age 4 and up, with different versions designed for preschoolers, school-aged children, and adolescents. Importantly, IQ scores are just one part of your child’s profile - creativity, emotional intelligence, motivation, and resilience all play a vital role in their growth and success.

Working with a psychologist ensures the results are interpreted accurately and used to support tailored learning strategies, early interventions, and your child’s overall development.

🧠 Your child’s mental health matters just as much as their physical health. 💙

Just like we take children to the doctor when they have a fever or broken bone, we should pay the same attention to their emotions, stress, and behaviour.

✅ Good mental health helps children build confidence, manage challenges, and develop healthy relationships.

⚠️ Ignoring signs of worry, sadness, or constant stress can affect their learning, socialisation, and overall development.

💡 What parents can do:

Listen without judgment

Encourage open conversations about feelings

Model healthy coping strategies

Seek professional help early if needed

Remember, strong bodies and strong minds go hand in hand. 🌱💪
