Yesterday evening, at 6:05pm, Alexandra Rose’s beloved husband, Michael, passed away peacefully.
🕯️💜🙏 3.9.1950 – 11.6.2025
As support workers, we are often called to walk beside people through the most tender and vulnerable chapters of life — and yesterday was one of those moments.
I sat beside Alexandra as she held Michael’s hand on his final journey.
There were no perfect words. Just I love you. I’m here. Thank you.
Moments like these remind us how life distills into presence, love, and letting go.
I feel deeply honoured to have witnessed something so sacred.
To sit in that stillness — between breaths, between lifetimes — is a privilege that stays with you.
Michael was a father, a gentle and compassionate soul, kind and funny, quietly quirky, beautifully stoic.
He suffered in silence more than most could bear, yet showed a strength that spoke without words.
His patience was unmatched. His resilience, remarkable.
And in the end, what remained was love — surrounding him, holding him.
Alexandra shared her gratitude with us, saying she sees us like family.
And in that moment, I saw it too. This work — it’s not just tasks and care plans.
It’s a quiet, powerful honour to walk alongside someone in both their everyday moments and their final ones.
To everyone who shows up with compassion and heart — thank you.
This work is sacred.
“In the end, we all just want to know we were deeply loved and never alone.”
Heartful 💜
