I’ve been meaning to tell you something for a while [sorry]…

I’ll be away from clinic for a few weeks and online bookings are not available until 10th June 2025.

I am no longer taking new clients until I return and there are a few spots left for existing clients but be quick as I’m almost at my absolute maximum capacity. I am taking a waitlist too. My best advice is to book ahead, or be sad 😭.

Sorry, not sorry, I’m off on an adventure and some much needed rest ✈️ 🇰🇷☺️

When was the last time you gave yourself a tune-up?

How many hours do you spend working in your job, cleaning your home, and servicing your car?

Do you make time to tune into your body?

Invest in your future self.

Invest in your health.

You don’t need to wait until you’re “sick” to seek Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture or Chinese Herbal Medicine). It’s all about finding and correcting any imbalances so that you can run like a well-oiled machine for years to come.

🐍2025 signifies the year of the Yin Green Snake.

🐍Harnessing the rising Wood energy, this year is about transformation, like a Snake shedding its skin, but also about finding balance with the resting Yin influence.

🐍The Year of the Dragon 2024 asked us to evolve, let go of old patterns and grow up. The Year of the Snake offers power and wisdom as we navigate our blossoming awareness, enter adulthood, and thrive with the strength to accomplish our goals.

🐍The snake offers opportunities to expand our intellect, ‘shed our skin’, and step into young adult energy bursting with life and ideas. Creativity abounds and our consciousness awakens. It is time to celebrate life!

🐍Chinese cosmology consists of 3 aspects: one of
- 12 Chinese zodiac animals
- 5 elements
- either yin or yang

🐍These 3 aspects provide information about the energetics of the year and contribute to guiding a person in making life-affirming choices.

🐍What does this mean for you?
Please see extra images for more information about each aspect of the Yin Wood (Green) Snake year and please see the original source for information about your specific Chinese zodiac animal.

🐍This year is very ripe with energy but patience and a well-thought-out strategy is recommended to achieve your goals. Just like the wise snake who knows when to rest and when to strike.

🐍The small intestine and spleen organs are associated with the snake. Be careful not to overwhelm these organs with overexcitement, overindulging or excess rumination.

🐍The powerful energy from the last few years and this year will culminate in 2026, the year of the Yang Fire Horse, which can be either explosive or a boon to creativity.

🐍Wishing you all the best in health and happiness for 2025!🧧🎉

A client said this to me today after missing her acupuncture sessions over the holidays.

We were discussing the latest fad wonder drugs etc. and I was saying there is no “magic pill”, you still have to do the work ie. diet, lifestyle and exercise.

She replied, “this is my magic pill”. I loved it so much I had to make a post 😍

What is your magic pill? 💊

I hope you’re in a really good place right now, and if not…go and see your favourite acupuncturist!

Acupuncture treats the whole body, mind and spirit. You don’t need to be “sick” to have a treatment. A skilled practitioner will find some imbalance to help you with ☯️⚖️

Prevention and consistency is key and Acupuncture is accumulative, just like most medicines, so usually the more you have the better the outcome! 📈

If you’re not sure how Acupuncture can help you, then reach out and ask. I’m pretty sure the answer will be “Yes, Acupuncture helps with that!”🙌

Shout out to all our wonderful Acupuncturists around the world for 🙏🏻

What are you holding onto?

Emotions, chronic pain, labels…we are all one human being - mind body spirit.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we seek to understand the underlying pathomechanism [bing ji] of a person’s presenting condition. We take into consideration the diagnosed western medical condition ie. disease name; but we consider the person that has that condition to be more important. What do they think, feel, experience? Are they stressed, grieving, an over-worrier? Are they working too much, exercising too little or incorrectly, not sleeping well, eating the wrong foods for their constitution, consuming too many toxic ‘supplements’ and ‘medicines’, using too many toxic chemicals? What extra “stressors” can we take away? What little changes can we make to lighten their load and enable their body to naturally heal?

When we let go of those extra stressors, we are able to heal more effectively…

A client of mine said this today and I just had to share.

What an honour it is to be able to help and support people during all types of challenges and moments in their lives.

Of all the things that Acupuncture helps with, I dare say the most common theme amongst everybody is the high level of “stress” that people are experiencing in their lives. Research has shown time and time again (& clinical practice) that Acupuncture influences the nervous system and helps to calm the mind. When we are in a more relaxed state, that is when the magic healing happens ✨

Here are the variety of conditions I am currently helping people with this past week in clinic:

🌿Fertility Support/Women & Men
🌿IVF Support/Embryo transfer support
🌿Early and late pregnancy support
🌿Frozen shoulder & bursitis
🌿Period pain & hormone balance
🌿Peri-Menopausal symptoms
🌿Pre-birth pregnancy/birth preparation
🌿Optimal foetal positioning/turning breech babies
🌿Neck & Back tension & pain
🌿Anxiety & Digestive issues
🌿Preconception preparation
🌿Stress relief and insomnia
🌿Hayfever
🌿Headaches & migraines
🌿Immune Support
🌿Jaw tension
🌿Cancer treatment support
🌿Post-Surgery recovery
🌿Hip & knee pain

In any given day I use a combination of:
💥Acupuncture
💥Electroacupuncture
💥Cupping or guasha
💥Chinese Remedial massage (tuina)
💥Moxibustion
💥Chinese herbal medicine
💥Supplements
💥Dietary & Lifestyle advice

All in a day’s work for a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner 🧑🏻‍⚕️

Just because I specialise in women’s health and fertility doesn’t mean I can’t help you with your sore neck! It just means I’ve done loads of additional training to support those extra conditions. And yes I do treat men, they are just less common in our industry. Women do tend to be more proactive with their health and seek acupuncture more readily.

But, the most common theme amongst all of these clients is stress 🤯

🦉Menopause is when a woman has ceased having a period for 12 months, based also on her age and other factors.
🦉Menopause is a natural stage of life, just like puberty.
🦉There is a huge shift in hormones as our bodies ovulate less regularly, the ovaries stop producing hormones, and the menstrual period becomes less regular until finally stopping altogether.
🦉This transitional phase is called Peri-Menopause and can impact our entire bodies in a multifaceted complex way giving us all the various related symptoms.
🦉Peri-menopause can start from as young as about 35 and continue for around 7 years on average, but can last up to 14 years.
🦉Menopause can happen naturally from the ages of 45-55, on average about 50.
🦉Premature menopause or POI (Primary Ovarian Insufficiency) can happen before the age of 40, or menopause may be induced (at any age) due to medical reasons e.g. breast cancer treatment.

💃🏻In Chinese Medicine Menopause is referred to as “The Second Spring” and is seen as a special stage in life to embrace. Instead of losing blood and essence each month it is retained and the energy from the uterus (conception vessel) moves up into the heart to concentrate the woman’s wisdom. Women become more connected to their true selves without the erratic changes of the menstrual cycle. The transition phase is probably the most difficult and can cause many of the mind, body and spiritual symptoms❤️

Numerous studies have shown that acupuncture and/or Chinese herbal medicine may offer some relief from some of the most common menopausal symptoms, such as:

🙌Hot Flushes & Night Sweats
🙌Anxiety & Depression
🙌Insomnia & Fatigue
🙌Headaches & Migraines
🙌Joint pain & Inflammation e.g. Frozen shoulder, arthritis pain
🙌Brain fog & Cognitive decline
🙌Mood swings & Emotional disturbances
🙌Low libido & Vaginal dryness
🙌Osteoporosis (bone mineral density)
And much more...

Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, alongside diet & lifestyle changes, and conventional medicine e.g. Hormone Therapy, can help a woman transition smoothly into Menopause and beyond. There is no need to suffer or be afraid.

Happy World Menopause Day!
