Action Forward Rebalance Life Mentoring

Action Forward Rebalance Life Mentoring I help parents of kids with disability reclaim their strength, build a brighter future for the family What happened you ask? Let’s PLAN action.

How saying “no” means I now have clear time for work and me …

The first photo is an absolutely exhausted and stretched version of me, I was so overwhelmed with EVERYTHING in my life. I was feeling the need to work crazy hours and fit everyone in when they needed things, I was telling myself working while i got the kids afternoon tea was effective. There was the constant fight to do the best clini

cally for my clients but being made to feel like I was not competent or experienced in my job. Then I would come home and feel like I was fighting with no energy left to plan and set up what was best for my loved ones. “I DON’T WANT to FIGHT anymore” was a line I remember saying on repeat to my hubby. Photo #2 There is spark and joy in those eyes and even a smile that is coming from deep inside. I’m not fighting multiple systems and people every week, I have energy and time to do things I “used” to do for ME. Goals and actions I set are actually coming to fruition and I‘m celebrating the changes of having more available time and even increased income. It is exciting and enjoyable to consider work time and there is the joy of having time for myself and my family's priority each week. I now have found the ability to; have focused time to progress my business, be totally present with my family and have time to do the things that recharge and exhilarate me, it blows me away with joy. Here’s what I learned and changed:
1. Develop clear boundaries for each of the priority areas of home and work to set clear time in your diary across the week.
2. Refind and refine your purpose and the things that are “important to you”!
3. Slowing down enough to take small simple steps and celebrating the 1% improvement each day and then across the whole week, month. My mission now is exciting and clear:

Support Allied Health Professionals to reignite their passion for work and restore energy in their personal lives to have joy and choices to reach their goals and dreams. What area of the week ALWAYS pushes your boundaries, lets look together at how you can build clear and strong boundaries.

Despite what the stage and situation your in.
What do you get drawn to for a reset and recharge?

For myself and my family.
It’s getting out and being active.

Such a great kids day of racing.

We are not a family who race in the front of any class.
However the skills, resilience, community, connections and joy that is found in the Amcross race community is why we travel the state.

Finding a place and people who you connect with, who support and encourage all with a laugh, fun and banter.
Makes such a wonderful time and worth all the time and km travelled.

Finding a supportive place and people can make this journey of parenting, family and the stages of growing kids.
All the difference of surviving or thriving through the life roller coaster.

Enjoy your wkend time ahead, doing something you and your family enjoy and treasure. ❤️

Kids day is done for us. What a great day, he even achieved what he set out for today!!!

Small steps he said to us at one point today (he’s heard me say it enough 🤣), he’s making progress and we are practicing the impact of mindset 😳

It’s that time of the month again!!!!!

🤣🤦‍♀️😂🏍️

Are you all packed or is that a tomorrow job.
I feel like a broken record:
“is all your gear in your bag?”
“Can you get this done we are away for the wkend racing mate.”

The packing clothes, the food shop arrives at 6am to go in the van, then the last bits.

Oh work that needs to be done between and school events too. 😳👍

BUT it’s Round 2 of Amcross this weekend, we all love our weekends supporting the kids snd adults and each other in the outdoors.
See you soon and look forward to chatting to anyone else heading to

What’s Happening at Action Forward?

I don’t think I’ll ever not think with my OT brain—just ask my boys (they love it…and sometimes hate it, haha!).

OT is simply part of who I am.

At Action Forward, I continue my work in complex disability Occupational Therapy, now expanding to include outreach to the Western parts of NSW.

But to practice what I preach about work-life balance, I’ve also developed a broader range of supports available to individuals and families.

Right now, my focus is on supporting families and kids who are navigating the challenges of school, home, and life.

This includes parent and individual mentoring, where we work together to:

✨ Review what’s working and what’s not — building knowledge about how we all process the world differently, and why sometimes it can feel like a volcano is ready to erupt at home.

✨ Build awareness of sensory and environmental processing — developing practical, real-world strategies that reduce chaos, frustration, and emotional explosions.

If you, someone you know, or someone you work with has been talking about:
• Needing someone to explain why things feel so hard
• Wanting more calm and less arguing at home
• Supporting kids who are really struggling at school or with activities and nothing seems to help.
Please reach out.

I often hear from families, “Why didn’t I know this years ago?” or “I wish my child’s teacher understood this sooner.”

There’s no need to wait anymore.

I’m available for one-on-one online sessions (making it easy and flexible) or even group sessions if you have a few people in mind—or a workplace team looking to build their understanding.

Sharing my knowledge and experience is the best part of my work.

After all these years, helping families find ease and confidence in daily life is what keeps my passion for OT burning bright.

Let’s connect whenever you’re ready.

Real Life Isn’t Always Glossy — and That’s Okay

There’s so much hype out there—about being positive, embracing life, finding inspiration in every moment.
And honestly, I agree with a lot of it.

But I also know that when life feels stressful, overwhelming, and exhausting…
those messages can be hard to feel connected to. Sometimes, they feel totally unreasonable and even infuriate.

So today, I’m reminding myself—and you—that there’s power in just doing what you can, when you can.

Being present in the moment. Slowing down enough to notice what actually matters to you.

Last week, we soaked up hours of sunshine at the beach—my boys in the water until they couldn’t move another muscle.
Then came the rain (150mm in 24 hours while camping—thank goodness for a watertight caravan!).
We pivoted—indoor climbing for them, shopping and wandering for me.

Now today, it’s still raining, but I’m home, in my long Ugg boots, warm and cosy. And honestly? That feels just right.

Life is a roller coaster.
We often push ourselves to do all the things we think we should.

But sometimes, the real magic is in accepting where we are, noticing the moment, and responding gently to what we need now.

That’s not just surviving..
That’s living life and thriving in the now.

Who I Am and What I Do

You’ll notice that what I share—whether it’s Occupational Therapy, mentoring, supervision, motorbiking, or everyday reflections—might seem like a mixed bag. And that’s true. But it’s also intentional.

I’ve heard the marketing advice:
Pick a niche.
Stick to a theme.
Be consistent with your message.

But here’s the thing—authenticity IS my message.

I show up as myself in every role I take on: as an OT, a mentor, a supervisor, a mum, a wife, a human. What you see here, and on my business pages, is me being real.

I share my thoughts, ideas, experiences, and what I’ve learned—because maybe, just maybe, something I’ve lived or discovered will help you, or someone you care about, at exactly the right moment.

For over 20 years, I’ve worked with people who experience and process the world differently—whether through neurodivergence, sensory or auditory processing differences, Autism, ADHD, or other ways of being. My focus has always been on understanding the process, not just the outcome.

Because there isn’t just one way to do things. There’s your way.

I take the time to understand you—your story, your family, your environment—and work with you to create practical, tailored strategies that help you thrive. Not just survive.

So, whether you’re here for insight, support, collaboration, or just curiosity—my space is open, and you’re always welcome.

Let’s keep the conversation going.
