A reminder that clocks are set to go back by an hour this coming Sunday, 6 April 2025, at 3 am for NSW, VIC, SA, TAS, and the ACT. There will be no change in QLD, WA, and the NT. Clocks on digital devices will update automatically, but manual clocks will need to be adjusted.

For our patients in NSW, VIC, SA and the ACT with appointments on Sunday or early next week, your Genea team is aware of the time change and will remind you to adjust your trigger injection schedule one hour later to account for this. If you have a Sunday appointment, please be mindful of the time change and ensure you arrive on time.

February is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. We know that receiving a cancer diagnosis can feel overwhelming, with many questions about your health and future – including your dreams of having children. We understand this is a difficult time, and we're here to help you explore your fertility preservation options.

Time is a key factor, which is why we encourage speaking with both your doctor and a Fertility Specialist before beginning cancer treatment. These early discussions can help you consider your reproductive choices and give you more options for your future.

Genea is delighted to collaborate with the University of Adelaide and the Robinson Research Institute on a research project to optimise how we select the best s***m to use in IVF.

Thanks to a three-year, $820,000 National Health and Medical Research Council Development Grant, the research will mimic natural processes in the female body, to produce a user-friendly, surface-engineered device that selects s***m with high DNA integrity to provide an enriched s***m sample to optimise each patient's chance for a successful outcome.

Our very own Director of Research, Dr Nicole McPherson, will be an investigator on this project, with Genea providing clinical input and Beta prototype testing.
