One of the biggest mistakes I see with eczema clients?⁣⁣⁣
Running too many functional lab tests at once.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Functional testing can be incredibly helpful.⁣⁣⁣
But more testing doesn't mean better healing.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
In fact, when tests are run out of order, it often leads to:⁣⁣⁣
• expensive protocols⁣⁣⁣
• 10+ supplements at once⁣⁣⁣
• confusing results⁣⁣⁣
• more rashes⁣⁣⁣
Because the data might show multiple imbalances ⁣⁣⁣
but it doesn’t tell you what to address first.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
In the Love Your Skin Program we follow a testing hierarchy:⁣⁣⁣
1️⃣ Symptom patterns + health history⁣⁣⁣
2️⃣ Foundational blood work⁣⁣⁣
3️⃣ Gut testing (stool / microbiome)⁣⁣⁣
4️⃣ Targeted functional tests⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Examples of targeted testing include:⁣⁣⁣
• Organic Acids Test⁣⁣⁣
• Environmental toxin testing (mold / heavy metals)⁣⁣⁣
• DUTCH hormone testing⁣⁣⁣
The goal isn’t more data.⁣⁣⁣
The goal is data you can actually use.⁣⁣⁣

These recipe is a staple in our house every weekend 💛⁣
(Make sure to save this one!)⁣

They’re quick, toddler approved and an easy way to sneak extra nutrients into breakfast.⁣

Plus… it doubles as a fun sensory activity with Vili (as you can see 😅).⁣

You can keep it super simple or add a few food as medicine upgrades.⁣

BASE RECIPE⁣
• 4 eggs⁣
• 2 bananas⁣
• ¼–½ cup oats (depending how thick you like them)⁣
Blend everything in a blender.⁣

Optional: let the batter sit for 5–15 minutes so the oats can thicken.⁣

Heat butter or oil in a pan, pour the batter, and flip when you start to see bubbles forming.⁣

NUTRIENT UPGRADES⁣
• flaxseed⁣
• chia seeds⁣
• cinnamon⁣
• vanilla⁣
• pinch of salt⁣
• green banana’s⁣
• sometimes I sneak in a handful of spinach (no one notices 👀)⁣

Serve with:⁣
• berries or passionfruit⁣
• yogurt⁣
• maple syrup⁣
• macadamia butter (so good)⁣

3 things Natalies Dr's & Naturopaths missed…⁣⁣
She’d seen Dermatologists.⁣⁣
Allergists.⁣⁣
Four naturopaths.⁣⁣
Did stool testing, acupuncture, meditation… even reiki.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
After 11 years of trying?⁣⁣
She was still covered in rashes.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
So… what were they missing? 🧐⁣⁣
⁣⁣
1️⃣ The wrong tools for the right job⁣⁣
→ Steroid creams won’t heal eczema long term (they suppress inflammation)⁣⁣
→ The stool test Natalie ran was a culture-based analysis, which has major limitations⁣⁣
⁣⁣
When we reviewed Natalie’s symptoms and health history,⁣⁣
there were big red flags for yeast overgrowth.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
GI Maps (PCR stool analysis) commonly have false negatives for fungal markers.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Instead we ran an Organic Acids Test, which has more reliable markers for yeast.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Just as suspected… yeast showed up.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
2️⃣ There was no process to follow.⁣⁣
Healing eczema isn’t just about collecting more information.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
It requires a clear step-by-step process.⁣⁣
Not an overwhelming list of protocols.⁣⁣
Not endless Googling.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
3️⃣ Human connection⁣⁣
For 11 years Natalie was trying to heal alone.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Inside the program she found something she’d never had before:⁣⁣
Other eczema warriors and Practitioners who experienced eczema.⁣⁣
Connecting is one of the most powerful ways to regulate a dysregulated nervous system (something polyvagal theory explains very clearly).⁣⁣
⁣⁣
When the nervous system shifts out of survival mode?⁣⁣
Healing becomes possible.⁣⁣
“Most naturopaths haven't been through eczema, so there's a lack of emotional connection.”⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
THIS is why eczema healing requires a testing hierarchy.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Not every test is useful at every stage.⁣⁣
It’s about understanding:⁣⁣
• what to test⁣⁣
• when to test⁣⁣
• how to interpret the results⁣⁣
• how it fits into the bigger healing picture⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Because eczema healing isn’t about running more tests.⁣⁣
It’s about running the right test at the right time.⁣⁣

One of the most common things people try when they have eczema elimination foods..⁣⁣⁣⁣

Cut dairy.⁣⁣⁣⁣
Cut gluten.⁣⁣⁣⁣
Cut eggs.⁣⁣⁣⁣
Cut soy.⁣⁣⁣⁣
Cut nightshades.⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
It MIGHT help for a while.⁣⁣⁣⁣
But then the rashes come back…⁣⁣⁣⁣
The list of “trigger foods” keeps getting longer.⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
(this was me for about 10 years 🥴)⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
The problem?⁣⁣⁣⁣
❌ It’s not just the food.⁣⁣⁣⁣
It’s because the immune system has become hyperreactive, ⁣⁣⁣⁣
often driven by underlying gut dysfunction and other sources of inflammation.⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
In eczema clients we commonly see:⁣⁣⁣⁣
• gut dysbiosis (microbial imbalance)⁣⁣⁣⁣
• intestinal permeability⁣⁣⁣⁣
• nutrient depletion⁣⁣⁣⁣
• immune system overactivation⁣⁣⁣⁣
• hormone imbalances⁣⁣⁣⁣
• dysregulated nervous system⁣⁣⁣⁣
• underlying infections⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
When those drivers aren’t addressed, ⁣⁣⁣⁣
removing foods might temporarily reduce inflammation…⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
BUT it doesn’t restore tolerance.⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
And long term food restriction? ⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
• Will reduce microbiome diversity.⁣⁣⁣⁣
• Worsen food sensitivities.⁣⁣⁣⁣
• Lead to nutrient deficiencies.⁣⁣⁣⁣
• And secondary issues.⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
So good news! ☀️⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
The goal isn’t to live on fewer and fewer foods.⁣⁣⁣⁣
The goal is to rebuild a body that can handle more foods again.⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣

Most people trying to heal eczema eventually hear the same advice:⁣
“Heal your gut.”⁣
“Test your gut.”⁣

But what most people don’t realise? ⁣
Not all stool tests are the same.⁣

The majority of the at home microbiome tests ⁣
only show a small piece of the picture.⁣

Others rely on culture methods ⁣
that miss large portions of the microbiome altogether.⁣

If a test doesn’t measure things like gut function, ⁣
inflammation markers, digestive enzymes, ⁣
or intestinal permeability⁣

… you’re missing some of the most important data.⁣

But testing alone isn’t the answer either.⁣

Stool testing is simply data⁣
…. a snapshot in time.⁣

To actually make sense of that data, you still have to look at the bigger picture:⁣
• Your symptoms⁣
• Your health history⁣
• Your lifestyle patterns⁣
• Your immune system and nervous system⁣
• The drivers behind the imbalance⁣

Because eczema isn’t just a gut issue.⁣
It’s a whole body inflammatory pattern.⁣
Testing helps us uncover clues.⁣

But healing comes from understanding ⁣
why those imbalances happened in the first place ⁣
and addressing them in the right sequence.⁣

that are driving your eczema.⁣

“Based on this Microbiome Map… I should have had eczema everywhere.”⁣

When I ran my first stool analysis about 4 months postpartum (after traveling in Uganda)… it lit up red.⁣

Markers of gut dysfunction.⁣
Opportunistic bacteria overgrowth.⁣
Signs of intestinal permeability.⁣

Looking at the results, ⁣
It made sense why I had small pregnancy flares.⁣
But I should have had eczema EVERYWHERE!⁣

Want to see a comprehensive review of my Microbiome Maps?⁣
Comment “MAP” below 👇🏼⁣

But here’s the interesting part…⁣
Because I’ve built strong eczema healing pillars and daily habits, the inflammation was largely contained.⁣

Fast forward 4 months of targeted support (while breastfeeding, which limits what you can take):⁣
→ Markers of intestinal permeability decreased⁣
→ Opportunistic bacteria reduced by half⁣
→ Beneficial bacteria increased⁣

And most importantly.. my skin stayed stable.⁣

This is why eczema healing isn’t just about ⁣
one protocol or supplement.⁣

It’s about building a body that can handle stressors ⁣
without tipping into a flare.⁣

I still had more work to do post breastfeeding, ⁣
but even with limited tools, the progress has been huge.⁣

More energy.⁣
Better focus.⁣
Less skin inflammation.⁣

Proof that when you focus on the foundations first, your body can start to shift.⁣

Want support to:⁣
• run the right testing⁣
• understand what’s happening inside your body⁣
• implement the eczema healing pillars⁣
• and have a Nutritionist + Naturopath guiding you step-by-step⁣

Your blood work can be “normal” and still not be optimal for healing eczema.⁣

Here’s what most people don’t realize:⁣
• Reference ranges are designed to diagnose disease — not optimize immune function⁣
• “Normal” is based on population averages (and population health is declining)⁣
• Subclinical imbalances can still drive inflammation⁣
• Labs must be done correctly (fasted, morning, correct cycle timing)⁣
• And numbers without context miss the real drivers⁣

Eczema isn’t just about being “in range.”⁣

It’s about asking why your immune system is reactive in the first place.⁣

How you test + interpret matters. Blood tests matter.⁣

When we review labs for our eczema clients, ⁣
we’re not using conventional ranges that diagnose disease. ⁣

We’re looking for optimal ranges AND patterns.⁣

Patterns of: ⁣
• Nutrient depletion⁣
• Chronic inflammation⁣
• Immune activation⁣
• Underlying infections⁣
• Blood sugar dysregulation⁣
• Liver burden⁣
• Hormonal shifts⁣
• Stress load⁣

After working with 1,000+ eczema clients, ⁣
there are specific eczema markers that ⁣
we see out of optimal range every single day.⁣

Not necessarily outside the standard “reference range.”⁣
But outside what supports resilient skin.⁣

That distinction matters.⁣
⚠️ Important:⁣

Please don’t just screenshot this list and request everything without context.⁣

How you present your symptoms matters.⁣
How labs are ordered matters.⁣
And interpretation is everything.⁣

“Normal” does not mean optimal.⁣
“Normal” does not not address the underlying causes of eczema.⁣

When used properly, they help us understand ⁣
why your immune system may be reactive⁣
instead of just suppressing symptoms.⁣

If you’ve ever been told your labs were “normal” but you feel far from normal and covered in rashes!?⁣

Dr says your blood test results are “normal” BUT your body says otherwise?⁣

Your eczema is flaring.⁣
You’re fatigued.⁣
You’re anxious and inflamed.⁣
And somehow… your blood tests still come back “fine”?! ⁣

Sound familiar?⁣

This cartoon hits a nerve… because it’s real!⁣
Every week we hear from eczema warriors who:⁣

⚠️ Are told their bloods are “normal”⁣
⚠️ Pushed through 15-minute appointments⁣
⚠️ Handed Band-Aids, not answers⁣
⚠️ Know something deeper is going on… but no one’s listening⁣

(it’s not Dr’s faults, it’s the way the system is set up)⁣

Here’s the missing piece:⁣
Conventional ranges detect disease, not dysfunction⁣
They’re based on averages… not optimal health⁣
Most eczema-specific markers fly under the radar⁣

What you actually need is:⁣
✔️ The right bloods⁣
✔️ Interpreted through the lens of eczema⁣
✔️ Mapped against your symptoms, history, and terrain⁣
That’s what we do in the Love Your Skin Program.⁣
We specialize in eczema. Which means we look at:⁣
🩸 Immune + inflammation patterns⁣
🩸 Iron dysfunction (even without anemia)⁣
🩸 Brain-skin imbalances⁣
🩸 Thyroid and liver stress⁣
🩸 Gut and hidden infections⁣
🩸 Nutrient depletion + nervous system load⁣

Vili asked for carrot cake for breakfast…⁣

He knows we always start the day with protein. Fat and fiber. ⁣
AND he’s never even had carrot cake before ⁣

But hey… I love a challenge!⁣
We were in Fiji ⁣
Minimal kitchen.⁣
No grater.⁣
No baking dish.⁣
Limited ingredients.⁣

Here’s what we made it work with:⁣
🥕 Banana, egg, oats (our pancake base) and carrot⁣
🥥 Toasted seeds + chia for fibre + crunch⁣
🍇 A few raisins (because why not)⁣
🍁 A dash of maple syrup⁣
🧁 Pan-cooked and topped with yogurt.⁣

Moral of the story?⁣
You can stick to your healing principles.⁣
Even in chaos, even on holidays, even when your bud makes mystery requests in a remote Airbnb kitchen.⁣

Gut friendly meals don’t have to be perfect.⁣
It just has to work for your body (and your toddler 😅).⁣
🎥 Watch til the end for the final verdict.⁣

Want the recipe?⁣
If there’s enough interest, I’ll refine it and share it.⁣

A bit about me..

My journey into the world of Nutrition and Natural Medicine stemmed from a lifetime of suffering with eczema and gut issues. I used every steroid cream and natural cream under the sun with no long-term improvement. Then a trip overseas triggered the most horrendous gut issues, triggered more food intolerances and my eczema flared to the worse it’s been.

After seeing numerous doctors and dermatologists with no resolution, I felt frustrated and alone. I started investigating natural remedies and learnt first hand the connection between food, gut health and eczema.

This plus my passion for food and helping people led me to studying a Bachelor of Health Science in Nutritional and Dietetic Medicine. During this time I started Goodness on the Go ready made meals and started working with gyms.

Through personal and clinical experience I developed the Love Your Guts, Love Your Skin. This program helps people with digestive symptoms and eczema find relief so they can feel comfortable and confident in their skin.
