Holistic Clinical Nutrition

What is Clinical Nutrition? Clinical Nutrition is an evidence-based holistic therapy incorporating nutritional principles, nutritional biochemistry and the understanding of the functional role of food and nutrients for optimal health, healing, growth and development. The understanding of digestion, absorption, transportation and excretion of nutrients is important to understand the processes involved in health and disease. Nutritional medicine can be beneficial in the management and prevention of diseases and may be utilised alongside medical and other complementary therapies. The body is a complex organism and works due to the sum of its’ parts. Therefore, our body requires good, nutrient dense, wholefoods to be able to heal and function optimally.

What does a Clinical Nutritionist do? A Clinical Nutritionist, considers the whole person, mind, body and spirit to provide a personalised treatment plan, incorporating dietary, lifestyle and nutritional supplements to meet your individual needs and health goals. Taking a holistic approach to identify how factors such as diet, genetics, stress, environment and lifestyle are impacting your health and your nutritional needs. Treatment plans are informed by research and empirical knowledge to provide symptom relief and address the underlying cause of acute and chronic conditions. Education is a key element during consultations to empower you to implement the realistic and achievable dietary and lifestyle recommendations, on your journey to a healthier you.

How can Nutritional Medicine help you? Good, wholesome nutrition is the key to health and well-being to provide your body with the nutrients it requires to function optimally, repair, grow and develop, through all life stages.
