It doesn’t rhyme, but it’s true!
Beans, legumes, chickpeas, split peas, lentils, tofu, hummus, cannellini… how do you prefer your beans?
I love them all, and the science tells me that beans are just as good for my heart as they are for my gut.
Higher fruit, vegetable, and LEGUME consumption is associated with a lower risk of dying prematurely, from heart disease, or any other disease. If we’ll tolerated, the sweet spot seems to be three to four servings per day (equivalent to 375–500 g/day cooked weight.)
