Hi Barny and surrounds, the fire danger period is now over and fire restrictions have been lifted.
Please keep in mind it’s still very dry in our area. Similar conditions last year resulted in allot of burns getting out of control.

If burning off, please register the burn, have enough water and don’t leave the fire until extinguished.

Hi all, we will be conducting a planned burn this Saturday on Harkins road in Barnawartha. If you see smoke or trucks in the area don’t be alarmed.

As of today (Tuesday) permits to conduct agricultural burns can issued if the conditions meet the permit requirements.
Fire restrictions are still in place and only those with a permit can burn off.
If you see smoke or fire in a paddock after 4pm and there are farmers in attendance please do not call 000 unless you believe the fire is out of control.

The big red trucks will be heading in and around Barnawartha this morning to raise money for Good Friday Appeal. Keep an ear out for the sirens!

Santa is coming to town Tonight at 5pm.
If anyone who lives out of town would like to meet at the park at 510pm Santa and his amazing helpers will be swinging by on the fire truck. Otherwise listen out for the sirens as they make their way around Barny. Please be patient as we try to get around to everyone.

Obviously the main change is no burning off without a special permit.
