Initial sessions incorporate gaining insight into the client’s world, introducing myself as your therapist and developing and initiating relevant aspects of therapy. This session and all other subsequent visits incorporate the following modalities whilst using a client centred approach to facilitate your needs.

1. Resource Therapy

Resource Therapy (Advanced Ego State Therapy) is a direct, effective and lasting psychodynamic therapy based on the concept that our personality is made up of parts (refered to as resources). When these personality resources are in a healthy state they are useful and liked by all the other parts of the personality. There are different resources for different aspects of life, for example we have protective resources when there is danger present and caring resources present when nurturing children. Sometime resources may hold unwanted emotions, behaviours, be in conflict with each other or be present at the wrong time. For example, a fearful state may be present in large crowds creating the feeling of anxiety. Resource Therapy allows the therapist to speak directly to the part that holds the problem, so these resources states can be addressed and bought back to healthy normality.

2. Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is a safe and effective method of assisting you, the client, into a relaxed focused state whereby positive suggestion can be made to alter your perception, senses, thoughts and behaviour to a more favourable outcome. These changes will only occur if it is your “will” to do so, always being in total control of any process. Hypnotherapy bypasses the conscious “ego” mind to access the subconscious mind discovering the foundations of unresolved issues, unhealthy patterns and emotions and behaviours , then the therapist can assist deep change within the unconscious mind. Hypnotherapy varies from Hypnosis by being a way to get people to reconnect with their emotions and disowned parts of themselves through engaging dialogue with the client whilst in a trance state. Clients will never divulge any imformation to the therapist that they do not feel safe or comfortable to do so.

3. Neuro – Linguistic programming

Neuro (the mind) Linguistic ( language) Programming allows you to control how you see, feel and behave. Practised NLP tools and techniques can give you more positive, effective, thought patterns and perceptions to reach your true potential in life.

4. Gestalt Therapy

Gestalt therapy, developed by Fritz Perls in the 1940’s, is a psychotherapy that focuses on the client-therapist, the here and now present moment and incorporates the whole ecology of the clients world, giving the client an awareness and responsibility for their emotions and actions and a healthier perspective on the past, present and future.
