Hi, I’m Dan. I am the psychologist behind Personal Enrichment Services, based in Bowral. After 20 years of practising psychology, I moved my psychology practice here from Sydney last year.

We’ve been married 25 years and have moved all around the world together. We always wanted to live in the Southern Highlands, and we made the tree change last year. It's been a great 12 months for us - despite disruption from the pandemic, of course.

My clients say that I am relaxed, approachable, and non-judgmental. I work with a wide variety of clients – from couples counselling to anxiety to drug & alcohol issues to career planning. Or, if you are in the psychology field, I have done supervision for many years. I have practised psychology in the US, Singapore, and now Australia.

I am currently taking clients in my office in Bowral, with COVID-safe precautions, of course. So, let me know if you need a little extra support right now.

Spring is in the air. This is one of the most beautiful times to live in the Southern Highlands. Spring means a fresh start, new beginnings, a renewal of sorts. And, I suppose because it symbolises all of that, it is also a time we think about decluttering, Spring cleaning. Sometimes our personal life and mental health can use a bit of decluttering as well. If you haven’t met them before, it may be a bit confronting to visit a psychologist for the first time. Clearly, our therapy sessions will focus on you, your personal life, and the changes you want to make to it. So, here’s a little information about me and what I’m like to work with so that you feel more comfortable working with me.

Clients tell me that I am calm, relaxed and approachable. My wife says that I have a dry sense of humour and can be a bit stubborn (did I mention I have been married for 25 years?). And, you’ve already met my dog, Kevin Noodles. I love to travel, to bushwalk and walk on the beach. I love to listen to the Blues, putter in my garden, and bake bread and cakes.

I love living in the Southern Highlands, and here are my top 5 ideas for dealing with our current situation.
1. Getting a takeaway treat, so many great places to choose from and you are supporting a local business
2. Exercising at one of our beautiful parks: Lake Alexandra, Mt Gibraltar, any National park or State forest. An added bonus is that I can take my dog to many of these places.
3. Invest in yourself – it’s a great time to start therapy, take a new course, research a new career
4. Explore a new hobby – many of our local shops offer click and collect or online ordering to purchase whatever you may need to get started on a craft or hobby
Do something child-like. Play a game, run in the garden, dance in the lounge.
