Scan, Print, Fit - all in 24 hours! ⏳

Before we create a final (or "definitive") socket for a client, we print a trial ("check") socket to make sure our clients get the best fit, comfort and functionality from their socket. These check sockets are typically worn for two or three weeks before progressing to their definitive socket.

At X-Tremity, we've developed our 3D printing capabilities to allow us to print our check sockets instead of manufacturing them in the traditional plastic drape way. This saves heaps of time and means that our clients are back on their feet and in their new socket much sooner!

This client came in for an assessment and a 3D scan and then walked out on his check socket the very next day!

We were happy, they were happy, the dog was indifferent...

So cool! Another colourful socket going out to a client who loves the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And what's not to love?

Some Marvel facts for your day:
- In 2009, The Walt Disney Company bought Marvel for US$4 billion — a deal now widely seen as a bargain.
- 2008’s Iron Man launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
- 2019's Avengers: Endgame grossed US$2.8 billion worldwide!
- In the comics, Hulk was originally grey. Printing inconsistencies caused colour problems, so Marvel changed him to green permanently.
- Thor was originally human. Early comics portrayed Thor as Dr Donald Blake, a disabled physician who transformed into Thor by striking a cane on the ground.

What a photo! What a guy! Ben from Narromine, NSW (near Dubbo) lost his leg in a trucking accident. Less than six months later, he's out of hospital, on an X-Tremity prosthetic leg and touring around Thailand!

Good on you, Ben. We love to see it.

There she goes! Check out Katrina in NZ, back on the run and loving life!

Our wonderful Lizzie in Auckland is an absolute pro and does amazing things for our clients - literally getting them back on their feet and doing what they love.

Katrina loved cross-country running but lost her leg to cancer. She's always dreamed of having a running leg to get back out there. Thanks to Lizzie, that dream is now a reality!

Good on you, Katrina! We love to see it.

Here's something new for us! A parent asked for blue AFOs for their child and said they were happy for us to surprise them with the result.

So we got creative and found this very cool metallic blue. It's actually a Holden paint colour called "Voodoo". Maybe you know someone with a Holden in this colour?

We love the fact that you can still see the carbon fibre weave underneath. They look SLEEK! Of course, they're completely customised to the little boy who will be wearing them and we reckon they'll have him zooming around real quick!
