Sofia has diverse qualifications and professional backgrounds in nutrition, psychology and business. She is a mother and has lived in the Shire for 16 years. Sofia is a Paul Harris Fellow recipient, the founder of Batemans Bay Community Picnic, the President of the Philippine Cultural Society of Batemans Bay, a member of Rotary Club Batemans Bay and on the social committee of Batemans Bay Sailing Club. Sofia is dedicated to enriching the lives of our local people by driving social progress and community resilience.

What a great day at the Easter Charity Race last Sunday filled with style, glamour, and wonderful community spirit in support of Eurobodalla Regional Hospital Carers Accommodation.

Being one of the judges certainly wasn’t easy, with so many showcasing their best Autumn/Easter race outfits..everyone looked incredible!

A big thank you to the Moruya Jockey Club for hosting such a fabulous event and all the sponsors of the Fashions on the Field.

For the past three years since we launched our community picnic, the Bateman's Bay Soldiers Club Pipe Band has been an incredible supporter of our initiative. 🎶

A wonderful International Women’s Day evening surrounded by amazing women and inspired by a powerful talk from three-time Olympic swimmer Lisa Curry.

For me, the biggest takeaway from Lisa’s speech: listen to your own voice and never let anyone take your dreams away.

Each piece she created is more than just artwork - it’s a reflection of her own challenges, growth, and resilience. Standing there, you truly feel like you’re being invited into her internal landscape... raw, powerful, and deeply moving.
