Today on World Emergency Medicine Day, WeCare Health team would like to extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all Emergency Department staff — doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, paramedics, administration and support teams — for the incredible work you do every day to keep our communities safe.

At WeCare Health, we recognise that quality healthcare is strongest when General Practice and Emergency Medicine work together as one connected system of care.

Primary healthcare practitioners play a vital role in early assessment, chronic disease management, preventive care and timely intervention, while Emergency Departments provide lifesaving acute and critical care when patients need it most. Together, this partnership creates safer patient pathways, improves continuity of care, reduces delays in treatment, and ensures patients receive the right care at the right time.

Strong collaboration between community healthcare and emergency services helps:
• Improve patient safety and outcomes
• Reduce unnecessary hospital presentations
• Support early intervention and follow-up care
• Strengthen communication across healthcare teams
• Deliver more compassionate and coordinated care for our community

Thank you to every ED team member for your dedication, resilience and commitment to patient care — especially during the most challenging moments in people’s lives.

Happy World Emergency Medicine Day from the team at WeCare Health.

🚨 BIG NEWS FOR FAMILIES THIS FLU SEASON! 🚨
FREE FLUMIST FOR 2-17 years

The NSW Government has expanded access to the needle-free nasal spray flu vaccine (FluMist®) for children and teens aged 2–17 years while supplies last.
This comes after one of the worst flu seasons on record, with nearly 187,000 flu cases reported across NSW in 2025.
Health authorities are encouraging more families to protect their children early this season.

The nasal spray vaccine is a gentle, needle-free option that has already proven popular with families — around 69% of vaccinated children this year chose the nasal spray option. It’s especially helpful for children who feel anxious about needles. 💙

At WeCare Health, we are making it easy for busy families:

✅ Walk-ins welcome 7 days a week
✅ Easy appointments available
✅ Friendly healthcare team
✅ Fast and convenient flu vaccinations for eligible children and teens

Flu can spread quickly through schools, sports, and households — protecting your child also helps protect grandparents, babies, and vulnerable loved ones.

📍 Visit WeCare Health today or book your appointment now on HotDoc - Flu Clinic to help keep your family healthy this winter.

💬 Have questions about whether the nasal spray vaccine is suitable for your child? Our team is happy to help.

Children and teens across NSW will be able to access a free nasal spray flu vaccine as part of a new government program to increase vaccine accessibility.

🌸💖 This Mother’s Day, We Celebrate the Women Who Hold Our World Together 💖🌸

At WeCare Health we see every day the strength, love, sacrifice, and resilience that women carry into the lives of everyone around them.

To all the mothers, grandmothers, sisters, daughters, wives, aunties, friends, and every incredible woman — today is about YOU. 🌷

You are often the first to care for others.
The first to notice when someone is hurting.
The first to give comfort, support, love, and strength.

But so often, while caring for everyone else, women put their own health last.

This Mother’s Day, we want to gently remind every woman:
✨ Your health matters.
✨ Your wellbeing matters.
✨ You matter.

A regular health check is not just an appointment — it is an act of self-love, self-respect, and care for the people who love you most. Early detection and preventive care can save lives and help you continue being there for the people who depend on your strength and love every day.

At WeCare Health, we encourage all women to prioritise their:
🌸 Annual Women’s Health Checks
🌸 Cervical Screening Tests
🌸 Breast Health Checks
🌸 Heart Health Assessments
🌸 Mental Health & Wellbeing
🌸 General Preventive Health Checks

To all the men reading this — husbands, sons, brothers, fathers, partners, and friends — your encouragement matters too. ❤️
Sometimes the women in our lives are so busy caring for everyone else that they forget to care for themselves. Encourage them to book their regular check-ups. Support them. Remind them they deserve care too.

The greatest gift we can give the women we love is support, time, understanding, and encouragement to stay healthy and strong.

This Mother’s Day, let us celebrate not only the love women give to the world, but also the importance of protecting their health for many years to come.

📍 Book your annual Women’s Health Check at WeCare Health today.
Because caring for yourself is one of the most powerful things you can do for the people who love you. 💕

Happy Mother’s Day to every amazing woman. 🌸
You are appreciated. You are valued. You are loved. 💖

❤️ HEART WEEK 2026 ❤️
This Heart Week, it’s time to put your heart health first. Heart disease remains one of Australia’s leading causes of death, yet many heart attacks and strokes can be prevented through early detection, regular check-ups, and healthy lifestyle changes.

A Heart Health Check is a simple 20-minute assessment with your GP that helps identify your risk of having a heart attack or stroke in the next five years. These checks are Medicare-subsidised for eligible Australians aged 45 years and over, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples aged 30 years and over, and people with diabetes aged 35 years and over.

During your Heart Health Check, your GP may assess:
✔ Blood pressure
✔ Cholesterol levels
✔ Blood sugar levels
✔ Lifestyle and family history
✔ Smoking status and exercise habits
✔ Overall cardiovascular risk using clinically validated tools

The Heart Foundation estimates that increased uptake of Heart Health Checks could help prevent thousands of heart attacks, strokes and cardiovascular events across Australia. Early intervention saves lives.

At WeCare Health, we are committed to supporting our community with proactive and preventative healthcare services during Heart Week and beyond. Our team provides:

🫀 Comprehensive GP Heart Health Checks
🫀 Chronic disease management and prevention planning
🫀 Blood pressure and cardiovascular risk assessments
🫀 Lifestyle and preventative health guidance
🫀 Ongoing cardiac care coordination
🫀 Access to experienced cardiologists and specialist heart care support

If you have risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, smoking, family history of heart disease, high cholesterol, obesity, stress, or a sedentary lifestyle, now is the time to take action. Many people have no obvious symptoms before a serious cardiac event occurs.

Heart Week is a reminder that prevention starts with one appointment.
Speak with your GP, understand your risk, and take steps toward a healthier future for you and your family.

📞 Book your Medicare-subsidised Heart Health Check with your GP at WeCare Health today and prioritise your heart health.

A Heart Health Check is the patient-friendly term for comprehensive cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk assessment and ongoing management.
