🌿 This Week’s Studio Theme 🌿
Non-Attachment l, A Gentle Invitation to Let Go
As Buddha reminds us, “The root of all suffering is attachment.”
Don’t get me wrong, while we have the “thing,” all feels well… but it’s when these things are taken away, or don’t turn out as we’d hoped, don’t last, that suffering often begins.
This week, we’re exploring the practice of non-attachment an opportunity for personal enquiry to pause, notice, and reflect on what we might be holding onto.
Let’s take a moment to explore this on a few levels:
✨ Physical – Is there tension or gripping in your body that you’re holding without even realising it?
🧠 Mental – Are there looping thoughts, endless “what ifs,” or a mind that just won’t quieten down?
💛 Emotional – Are you carrying worry, fear, disappointment, anger, or sadness that feels heavy?
Then there are the many things we can become attached to, often without knowing:
• Possessions & physical and material things we surround ourselves with and fill our cupboards with
• Our body or appearance
• Views, opinions & beliefs
• Control & expectations
• Thoughts of the future or being stuck in the past
• Comparison & judgement of ourselves or others
• Relationship with people, pets and other living things
And beyond that, there’s the backpack of life we all carry, filled with old struggles, past hurts, regrets, and stories we’ve been holding onto for far too long.
This week, we invite you to gently explore:
✨ What are you holding onto that no longer serves you?
✨ What might shift if you allowed just a little more space, softness, and release?
✨ What’s one small thing physical, mental, or emotional, that you’re ready to begin letting go of?
Our yoga mat becomes a safe space to practice lightening the load… even if it’s just for a breath, a moment, a single posture or a good old monkey swing or 20😂🐒
