We offer our clients a unique experience to be part of a community of movement. Connection is the act of joining or being joined to something and to be part of the process that makes this possible. Using imagination and creativity to create something inspiring within our teaching of Pilates.
We are a boutique bespoke Pilates Studio. Fully equipped with beautifully appointed equipment by Pilates Equip and Balanced Body. An alluring calming and inviting space, designed with our clients in mind as well as our own ideals and vision of what our Pilates Studio should be. Bathed in natural sunlight and centrally located within our lovely town. Pilates 44 are also proud Finalists in the 2019 Bathurst Business Awards.
EXCELLENCE IN HEALTH FITNESS & WELL-BEING
We pride ourselves on educating and empowering our clients about a new way of moving their bodies taking their new skills into everyday life situations - being curious about the body sitting in a chair at work or in the car, carrying bags whilst shopping to being curious about how the body moves when walking or playing sports. Many of our clientele attend regular Pilates for injury recovery such as back pain and injury, abdominal surgery, neurological and motor skill issues, knee surgery, hip surgery, chronic and longstanding illnesses. And just because they thoroughly enjoy Pilates.
Contrology (now known as Pilates) was developed by Joseph Pilates as a means to balance and structurally align the musculature arrangement of the body as well as the neurological pathways of the brain. All of which can aid us in moving during everyday tasks with ease and enjoy our day to day activities. Breath techniques are also an important factor within Pilates practice.
Simmone Cser Pratzky Owner/Manager
Simmone's teaching is driven from a place of creativity and artistic passion with a healthy dose of inspiration from like minded people. Her mission statement for Pilates 44 Studio embodies what she brings to the Studio and her clients. "Through our creativity and passion for the practice of Pilates we create a community where individuals share a feeling, quality and experience within movement. We guide our clients to explore new connections with their bodies and minds while finding a greater level of self-trust, movement resiliency, and overall quality of life."
With an athletic background as a horse rider and breeder of over 25 years, Simmone is extremely interested in the anatomy and bio-mechanics of movement and how we can bring harmony and ease to every day life tasks, from getting out of a chair to carrying the grocery bags. Seeing a need for Pilates in her home town of Bathurst, she opened Pilates 44 Studio in 2017.
Her personal journey to Pilates began in 2011 as she searched for a modality that could aid her in managing ongoing back and neck pain caused by a serious horse riding accident that left her with 2 cervical fractures, whiplash and broken ribs. After having amazing positive changes in posture and functionality she wanted to learn more about Pilates and how to bring it to others. Simmone went on to complete her initial training and Certification with Allan Menezes of Pilates Institute of Australasia, who trained in England with Alan Herdman. She sought to to further enhance her skills, taking Reformer and Comprehensive Studio training through Polestar Pilates and regularly takes cec recognised workshops relevant to her interests and training. An interest in women's pelvic floor health and how menopause through hormones can effect movement for women, drew her to complete a course with the Centre for Womens Fitness (Carolyne Anthony) allowing a more in depth base of skills to work with women that have diagnosed pelvic floor conditions.
Simmone believes strongly that being a great teacher does not stop at your first certification. Learning is a continued process for any passion. One of her priorities as a teacher is to attend to her own Pilates needs through weekly private lessons with her mentor, Joanne Bezzina, from Pilates on George in Sydney.
Simmone is highly passionate about teaching clients how to bring functional movement into their daily life tasks, to find a greater physical and mental awareness of their bodies and to own their movement practice. “Pilates 44 is not just another Studio, it is a Pilates Community. Each class has its own unique connection. Clients form friendships and support one another.” She has watched many transform how they move, as the body and mind are retrained into more functional movement patterns. “Clients continually describe the positive changes to their posture, pain levels, movement and alignment of the body, allowing them to undertake their chosen sports or daily tasks with efficiency and ease. For others it can also be the mental connection of Pilates, allowing them to have confidence within themselves to move after an injury recovery."
