Chronic pain is more than just pain that “sticks around.” It’s complex, individual, and often influenced by many factors - including movement, stress, sleep, workload, and the nervous system itself.

At BPSIC, our approach to chronic pain isn’t about simply pushing through symptoms. It’s about understanding your body, building confidence in movement again, and creating sustainable strategies that support your day-to-day life ✨

Physiotherapy for chronic pain may include:
• education around pain and the nervous system
• gentle movement and exercise
• pacing strategies to reduce flare-ups
• strength and mobility work
• hands-on treatment where appropriate
• support returning to the activities you love

If chronic pain has been impacting your daily life, our team is here to help.

Every treatment plan is objectively driven. That means we use measurable metrics such as strength, range of motion, and neuromuscular control to create a patient-centred rehabilitation plan tailored specifically to you.

Rehab is never one-size-fits-all. Two people can present with the exact same injury yet have completely different exercise programs. Why? Because your plan is built around your individual deficits, movement patterns, and personal goals.
Our focus is not just on treating the injury — it’s about getting you back to performing at your best.

Most people don’t realise how common pelvic floor issues are — and how much they can impact everyday life.

Pelvic floor physio can help if you’re experiencing things like:
• leaking when you cough, laugh, or exercise
• a heavy or “dragging” feeling in the pelvis
• discomfort with movement, exercise, or intimacy
• feeling like your bladder is always urgent or not fully emptying

These symptoms can happen at any stage of life — during pregnancy, after birth, with exercise, or as your body changes over time.

A pelvic health physio looks at how your muscles, breathing, and core work together, then builds a plan that actually fits your body and your goals. That might include gentle strengthening, retraining coordination, bladder and bowel habits, and support returning to exercise safely.

You don’t need to “put up with it” or wait for it to get worse — help is available, and treatment is often more simple and practical than people expect.

Some of our Physios attended an informative concussion education evening at Kinross, presented by Prashant Jhala, Dr Warren McDonald, Dr Tim Low, and Professor Andrew Gardner.

The session covered concussion diagnosis and management, current research findings, and the potential short- and long-term risks associated with concussion. The presenters shared valuable clinical insights and evidence-based information, making it an engaging and highly worthwhile evening for all who attended.

We’re currently welcoming eligible participants.
Eligibility criteria:
• Aged 18 years or older
• Current episode of lower back pain lasting 3 months or longer
Please note: individuals who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant within the next 12 months are not eligible to participate.

Neurological physiotherapy focuses on helping people improve movement, balance, strength, and confidence in everyday life.

There’s a lot of trust in moments like these. Rehabilitation is rarely linear, but through guided support and individualised care, we work toward meaningful goals - one step at a time.

Did you know your neck could be contributing to your headaches?

Cervicogenic headaches occur when structures in the neck refer pain into the head - often causing symptoms that can feel like a “regular” headache.

Physiotherapy may help reduce headache frequency and intensity by improving neck mobility, reducing muscle tension, and addressing contributing movement patterns.

We’ve broken down some common signs and how physio can help in today’s infographic, so you don't have to keep suffering.

Heat or ice? It’s one of the most common questions - and the answer depends on what your body is doing right now.

🔥 Heat is your go-to when things feel tight, stiff, or “stuck.” It helps muscles relax, boosts circulation, and can make movement feel easier before activity or during ongoing tension.

❄️ Ice is best when things are fresh, irritated, or swollen. It helps calm inflammation, numb pain, and is especially useful after activity or a recent flare-up.

A simple rule of thumb:
Stiff + tight → heat
Swollen + sore + recent → ice

Both have their place, it’s just about using the right tool at the right time.
