The goal isn’t perfect posture all day (that doesn’t exist). It’s variety, movement, and small resets that add up (the best position is your next position).

If you’re finishing the day with a stiff neck, tight shoulders, or an aching lower back, start with just one of these steps tomorrow.

Most recurrent injuries come down to three things:
• Returning to sport too quickly
• Stopping rehab once the pain settles
• Skipping the gradual build back to full training

Pain might settle with rest, but rest alone doesn’t fix the underlying problem. Often there’s tightness, weakness, or poor control that needs to be trained.

Rehab is about progressive reloading:
• Restore mobility
• Build strength
• Improve control
• Gradually increase load

For athletes, the final step is mimicking sport demands — cutting, sprinting, jumping, and plyometrics — so you return stronger, safer, and ready.

Pain settling is only the first step. Finishing rehab is what keeps you playing.

🏃‍♂️ Starting running? Read this first 👇
To stay injury-free, focus on 3 things:

1️⃣ Strength = Capacity
Strong calves & glutes help you tolerate running load.
🔥 Test it: Can you do 20+ single leg calf raises with control? If not, build strength first.

2️⃣ Load Management = Recovery
Increase volume by no more than 10% per week.
⚠️ Remember: hills, speed & terrain changes = extra load.

3️⃣ Control = Efficiency
Better running technique = less stress on your body.

Not sure where you stand? We can help 👊

There's no doubt you've already seen Chelcie at Bathurst Physio, but we're a bit overdue to welcome her on socials!

Born and raised in Bathurst, Chelcie completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Charles Sturt University in Orange before beginning her career at North Canberra Public Hospital. Chelcie has always had an interest in human movement, where she was curious about anatomy, biomechanics, and problem solving. She knew she wanted to be an active participant in patient recovery and rehab, which ultimately led her to Physiotherapy.

During her 2.5 years in Canberra, Chelcie worked across a range of clinical areas including medical, neurological, and cardiorespiratory. It was through her rotations in women’s health and paediatrics that she discovered a passion for pelvic health physiotherapy. Chelcie derived huge satisfaction supporting individuals through their recovery and helping them achieve meaningful improvement.

Pelvic Health has driven Chelcie’s ongoing professional development, including further specialised training culminating in her commencing her Master of Physiotherapy (Pelvic Health) through the University of Melbourne.

Chelcie enjoys pelvic health as she can support women and make meaningful change to their symptoms and overall quality of life. She recognises that pelvic health concerns can often feel sensitive or isolating, and she is deeply committed to creating a supportive environment where patients feel understood, empowered, and confident in their care.

To book an appointment with Chelcie, call us on 6332 1955.

Success in physiotherapy doesn’t happen by chance — it’s a partnership between you and your physio.

Here are 3 non-negotiable tips to get the most from your journey: stay consistent, speak up, and focus on your overall function — not just pain. It’s about building a body that works for you, now and long-term.

Ready to take control? Start here.

Bit of Olympic excitement in the clinic this week 🇦🇺

John and Katrina have spent a lot of time in Livigno over the years, so it’s been pretty cool seeing it in the spotlight during the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Huge congrats to Cooper Woods on taking gold in the men’s moguls — an incredible result.

High-performance sport always comes back to the basics: strength, control, and good rehab when it counts.

🤖✨ Meet HAL

We were lucky to host Daniel (co-founder of RoboFit) and Jessica (Physiotherapist) to learn about HAL – the world’s first neuro-controlled exoskeleton.

Daniel shared his powerful story as a C4/5 incomplete quadriplegic following a balcony collapse, and how Cyberdyne’s HAL technology changed his life by assisting to restore motor function.

HAL is a clinical training tool (not for home use). It works by detecting the user’s intention to move and assisting gait in a supported, less demanding way, allowing for greater repetition. This repetition helps drive neuroplasticity (the nervous system’s ability to adapt, re-organise, and form new connections to improve movement and function).

A huge thank you to Daniel and Jessica for coming down and teaching us about this incredible technology

Physiotherapy is so much more than just pain relief. It’s about restoring how your body moves, builds strength, and copes with everyday demands — all while empowering you to prevent injuries and manage your health long-term.

Whether it’s tackling movement restrictions, building load tolerance, or overcoming the fear of moving, physio helps you reclaim your daily function and confidence.

If you think physio is only for injury recovery, it’s time to think bigger. Your body deserves that.

Are you pregnant or know someone close who is?

We are excited to share that we are now offering Born ready practical sessions. Born Ready – Better Births is a physio-led birth course, informed by midwives and obstetricians. It’s designed to help you feel confident and prepared for birth – whatever that looks like for you.

The course is evidence-based and includes:
✨ A 2 hour online self paced learning component
✨ A 2-hour in-person practical workshop, now being offered at Bathurst Physiotherapy

The course covers:
• How your body works in labour
• Pain relief options (medical & non-medical)
• Practical skills including birth positions to promote a progressive labour pattern
• A strong focus on your birth partners and how they can best support you
• Tools to reduce fear and feel more in control

This course is all about understanding what can happen during birth and why, so that no matter the outcome, you feel ready, supported and empowered.

Our first course will be held Saturday Feb 14th, 8–10am (we’re also taking expressions of interest for future course dates in the coming months).

To find out more or to book, visit:

Once you sign up via the Born Ready website, you’ll then be able to book into the practical workshop at Bathurst Physiotherapy.
