Balance is, without a doubt, one of my favourite screening tools that I use in my clinic!
It can tell me so much about how a patient's brain is functioning and which muscles and joints are working.
In children, it's directly correlated to their ability to learn!
In adults, it can tell us how stressed you are and having good balance can reduce your risk of falls by up to 80%.
If I haven't checked yours in the clinic, just ask! (There may be a safety reason, but sometimes it's something I come back to later)

Sometimes what people think you do and what you actually do is very different!

Those of you who have spent time with me would know that I love puzzles.
And having the knowledge to solve some pretty complex puzzles that happen to the human body is what gets me up in the morning.
This is why I am always learning and adding to my toolkit. I want to get better at solving puzzles!

P.S. I also love chatting and getting to know my patients, but mostly it's the puzzles! 😆

When issues have been there for a long time, they can become your new normal. There is a big difference between you normal and optimal function.
Putting up with even a small amount of daily pain is not normal and changes function, neurological pathways and brain patterning. This can increase wear and tear on our joints and tissues causing issues as we go on through our lives.
This is where preventative care comes in. You don't need to be in huge amounts of pain to ensure that your system is working properly.
I love doing preventative care, I don't want my patients to just function, I want them to THRIVE!

The first half of the year I am going to be focused on doing my MAT Pilates Instructor Course with . I started over the weekend and I had so much fun. I can't wait to learn more.
