The Power of Pink! Every donation to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) today will be MATCHED – as part of their Power of Pink Giving Day.

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer amongst women in Australia and its incidence is increasing – with 1 in 7 Australian women and about 1 in 500 Australian men expected to be diagnosed in their lifetime.

But the good news is that research and early detection has helped reduce mortality by over 40% in the last 30 years.

So many of Dr French's patients have faced breast cancer and benefitted from the important work of the NBCF so he has donated $250 today, knowing that the generous sponsors of the NBCF will match it to a total of $500

Did you know 18 October is Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day?

BRA Day raises awareness about breast reconstructive options for women facing mastectomy due to breast cancer.

Breast cancer affects 1 in 7 women in Australia, yet all too often newly diagnosed patients have very little knowledge about their surgical options.

Any woman in Australia, regardless of public or private insurance status, can access a provider of breast reconstruction services for information at any time in their treatment pathway.

There is more than one kind of reconstruction option available. Talk to your surgeon about what might work for you.

I’ve got my virtual Pink Test seat! 🏏 💕

How is Dr French helping raise funds for breast cancer research this October? He is part of the campaign!

This year for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the National Breast Cancer Foundation is asking people to take a photo of their brekkie, share it online and donate the cost to research.

The only issue is that Dr French normally leaves pretty early most mornings, so his 'breakfast' is normally a quick home made coffee (and a couple of scoops of yogurt or piece of fruit if he has a few extra minutes!). It doesn’t make for the most interesting breakfast photo! 🤣

So he has donated the cost of an 'all you can eat' holiday breakfast he wishes he could indulge in more often!

This year the National Breast Cancer Foundation is asking people to photograph their breakfast, post the images online, and donate the cost of their breakfast to us so we can continue to fuel life-saving breast cancer research.

Over 3,200 Australians are expected to lose their lives from breast cancer in Australia this year – that’s around nine people a day.

Research is central and critical to reducing deaths from breast cancer.

Ruptured implant removed and breasts lifted by Dr James French at Hunter Plastic Surgery in Newcastle! 😍🪄

This lovely 38-year-old patient came to see Dr French after previous breast augmentation performed overseas. Her right breast implant has ruptured and her skin had begun to fall off the edge of the implant, creating a ‘waterfall’ deformity.

Dr French performed an implant removal and breast uplift using an internal bra technique to removal the compromised implants, reshape the ar**la and reposition the breasts into a higher, perkier position on the chest wall.

Meet Associate Professor French...

Dr James French is a Specialist Surgeon with an exclusive focus on breast surgery.

In his Sydney public and private clinics he primarily focuses on breast cancer treatment and reconstruction. He is the Head of Breast Surgery at the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute. Dr French is also part of the team leading the development of oncoplastic breast surgery. Breasts transformed by Dr James French at Hunter Plastic Surgery Newcastle! 😍🪄

This lovely 48-year-old patient came to see Dr French, conscious of her deflated chest and ar**la size post-pregnancy. Dr French performed a small breast reduction, uplift and ar**la reshaping using an internal bra to create a youthful, perky, chest. With the addition of fat grafting from the inner thighs, Dr French was able to restore upper pole fullness and create close cleavage lines.

Breast reconstruction using implants after mastectomy. 🎀

On Breast Reconstruction Awareness (BRA) Day we thought it was important to show an example, in this case using breast implants.

This patient was obviously focused on her cancer treatment but her reconstruction request was to be a “little bigger” than her native breast size. After removing her cancer and some breast tissue, Dr French was able to achieve a natural looking result with 225cc tear drop implants.

AND IN TECHNICAL TERMS..
This patient has undergone a bilateral ni**le sparing mastectomy with immediate reconstruction for a right sided cancer using 225cc anatomical implants secured in a tailored TiLOOP Bra(R) pocket in the pre pectoral position.
