💜 Sharing Our Cosmetic and Wellness Essential Oils 💜

When sharing the wide range of Young Living products, we would like to offer a friendly reminder that our cosmetic essential oils and our Wellness essential oils should be shared differently as they are regulated differently.

When sharing an essential oil with the coloured label, these oils are regulated as cosmetic products, so cosmetic uses should be shared. For example, talk about the aroma of the oil, how the oil makes you feel when diffused, or describe how you use an essential oil as a personal fragrance.

When sharing a Wellness essential oil in the white label, these are regulated as complementary medicines, so there are certain guidelines that must be followed when promoting one or more of these. These requirements are as follows:

· The full name of the medicine should be shared, e.g. “Lavender Wellness Essential Oil.”

· One or more of the indications (claims) for the medicine, e.g. “Traditionally used in aromatherapy to relieve toothaches and to relieve mild nerve pain.”

· The following mandatory statement – “Always read the label and follow the directions for use.”

It’s also important that as a Young Living brand partner you avoid providing a testimonial when referring to a complementary medicine. Instead, we encourage our brand partners to endorse the product.

🌿When Sharing Thieves🌿

We just wanted to offer a friendly reminder to our brand partners when sharing our iconic Thieves® range on how to do it compliantly.

Avoid sharing claims that a product is antimicrobial e.g., a disinfectant, antibiotic, antiseptic, or kills specific types of mould. Claims that a product is antibacterial, a sanitizer or kills germs or bacteria should also be avoided, except for the Thieves Hand Sanitizer and Thieves Hand Sanitizing Wipes which we can say “kills 99.99% of germs”. Refer to each individual product page for guidance on acceptable claims for each product.
