On this , we celebrate the first lady of optics, Dr. Anna Estelle Glancy, the only woman who managed to overcome significant obstacles and rise to the top of the eyewear lens design field during the first half of the twentieth century.

She is finally beginning to receive the recognition she deserves, both for her scientific achievements and for her pioneering role as the first lady of .

May is Macula month.
One of Australia’s best known personalities Ita Buttrose has called on State, Territory and Federal Governments to do more for older Australians who are at risk of going blind.
Prevention is always better than cure and regular testing is essential.
At Vision Excellence, we conduct baseline screening tests of the macula and continued regular checkups allow us to keep a careful record of any changes.
The good news is that treatment is now available if the disease is detected early and referral to a surgeon is made at the appropriate time.
