My training isn’t for sport. It’s one of the foundational pillars of my life and my business. Strength training three times a week and regular swimming aren’t hobbies, they’re non-negotiable investments in resilience, energy, and cognitive function.

I thought you may like to know a little more about me!

I’m Angela, the founder and practitioner behind Holistic Health and Wellbeing.

For close to 30 years I have worked as a professional therapist, specialising in relationship building & communication and working with those who suffer debilitating affects of anxiety, with that in mind I developed The Liberté Strategy, a program that helps people break free from anxiety in its many forms.

Along the way, I saw how deeply our physical health affects our mental and emotional wellbeing.

This inspired me to expand into a truly holistic approach that supports mind, body and spirit.

At Holistic Health and Wellbeing, I use PEMF Therapy, Red and Near-Infrared Light Therapy, Molecular Hydrogen Inhalation, and personalised nutrition programs, all evidence-based and non-invasive.

I know first-hand what it is like to face health setbacks, from weight gain, torn tendons, 2 smashed meniscus, accidental injuries and even gym mishaps along the way.

I don’t give in and I don’t give up on researching the best solutions for optimal outcomes in my own health, and I bring that same determination to my clients, whether they are dealing with arthritis, ADHD, muscle tears, post-surgery recovery, frozen shoulders, fibromyalgia, weight loss, or simply wanting to feel more energised and resilient.

🍫 Chocolate – Treat or Medicine?

Chocolate is one of the world’s most loved foods, enjoyed for thousands of years with its roots tracing back to ancient South America. But for many people, the thought of indulging in it often comes with a side of guilt. That’s usually because we associate chocolate with sweets and lollies, rather than recognising that high quality chocolate, especially dark and organic varieties, actually has a long list of health benefits.

In fact, research has shown that even small amounts of chocolate may support heart health. A study in 2006 found that regular chocolate consumption was linked to a significant reduction in cardiac-related deaths. Surprisingly, participants only ate a tiny amount each week for that benefit.

More recent studies have highlighted that the natural compounds in cocoa, known as flavanols, can reduce risk factors for heart disease and help improve insulin sensitivity. This is especially important as many people assume chocolate raises blood sugar and insulin resistance, but evidence shows that dark chocolate may actually do the opposite. It can support blood vessel function and may even play a role in protecting against diabetes complications.

The benefits do not stop there. Cocoa has been shown to help lower blood pressure, support circulation, protect against cholesterol damage, and even reduce the risk of stroke. With over 100 potential health benefits reported, chocolate has earned its place as more than just a treat.

Of course, not all chocolate is created equal. Quality matters. Choosing organic, fair trade options helps avoid harmful chemicals and poor farming practices while also ensuring that the people who grow and harvest cocoa are treated fairly.

Like all good things, moderation is key. Chocolate has active compounds that affect the body in powerful ways, so it’s best to enjoy it mindfully, focusing on high cocoa content with minimal added sugar.
