📚 Book Week 2025 – Day 2 at Bayswater Childcare & Kinder 📚

Today was filled with colour, fun, and imagination! 🎉
Our children and educators celebrated Book Week with face painting and amazing dress-ups.

🐸 One of our educators hopped around as a frog, while another shined as a beautiful angel. The children’s creativity lit up the centre as they dressed up as tigers, cars, Superman, and so many more favourite characters from the world of books.

The day was full of laughter, storytelling, and magical play, bringing our love for books to life in the most joyful way. 💛

✨ Happy Book Week from all of us at Bayswater Childcare & Kindergarten! ✨📚

Our babies, toddlers, and kinders had the most magical day celebrating stories. The children brought along their favourite books from home and dressed up as their much-loved characters – from happy pumpkins 🎃 and bright ladybirds 🐞 to wriggly caterpillars 🐛, Cowboy, and cheeky little minions 💛.

The rooms were full of colour, laughter, and imagination as our little learners shared stories, flipped through pages, and brought books to life. 🌟 What a beautiful way to celebrate the joy of reading together! 💕

🌿 Kinder Gardening Fun at Bayswater! 🌻

This week our kinder children had the best time getting outside and into the garden together! There’s something really special about watching little hands dig in the soil, plant tiny seeds, and take so much care watering and tending to their garden beds. 💦🌱

We planted a mix of herbs, veggies and flowers – and the excitement was real! The children were so curious, asking questions like “How do worms help the plants?” and “Will my plant grow taller than me?” (We hope so! 🌻)

Gardening is such a beautiful way for children to connect with nature and each other. They worked together as a team, shared tools, took turns watering, and learned that growing something takes time, patience and care. 🌞

We’re already looking forward to watching our little garden grow – and even more excited to taste and smell what we’ve planted in the weeks to come!

🌈 Learning Story- Rainbow Astronaut Dress

Today at Basywater, one of our clever little learner used colourful paper to make their very own rainbow astronaut clothes! 🧑‍🚀✨

She carefully picked out bright colours, cut and glued each piece with so much focus, and proudly told us, “I’m making rainbow space clothes so I can fly to the moon!” 🌙

This fun activity was more than just craft – it helped build fine motor skills, colour recognition, creativity and storytelling. Most of all, it showed us just how powerful a child’s imagination can be.

We loved watching their idea come to life – and we’re so excited to see where their next adventure takes them! 🌟

🚓👮‍♀️ Calling All Junior Recruits! 👮‍♀️🚓
Today was all about sirens, safety, and smiles at Bayswater Childcare & Kinder!

We had some very special visitors—real-life policewomen from our local station came to show us what being a community hero is all about! 💪✨

The children got to:
🔹 Try on police hats (very official business!)
🔹 Explore a real police car (yes, we heard the siren 😄)
🔹 Learn about staying safe and helping others.
🔹 Ask the tough questions like “Do police eat donuts, Do they protect us from zombie?”

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing police visitors for making the day so memorable. You left a big impression on our tiny future officers! 👮‍♀️

Learning Story – Developing Balance and Confidence

During outdoor play, one of our child engaged with the balancing steps as part of her self-directed exploration. With careful focus and determination, she attempted to walk across the balancing steps, demonstrating persistence and a willingness to take risks in her play.

After a few initial tries and some thoughtful adjustments to her movements, she successfully balanced and made her way from one end to the other. On reaching the end, she expressed her excitement with a joyful “Yayy!” and confidently looked toward the educator to share her success.

This moment highlighted her growing physical coordination, resilience, and confidence in her abilities. It’s always a joy to witness children setting their own challenges and celebrating their achievements.

🎒👫 EXCURSION ADVENTURE! 👟📚
Our 4-year-old Kindies had the most exciting day visiting Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School! 🤩✏️

From classroom exploration to playground adventures, our little learners got a fun-filled sneak peek into "big school" life. They were welcomed with warm smiles, friendly teachers, and even got to join in on story time and creative activities! 🎨📖

The highlight? Trying out the big kid chairs and lining up just like primary schoolers — they felt so grown up! 😄

Excursions like these help ease the transition to school and build confidence through fun, hands-on experiences. And judging by the giggles and endless questions… we think they loved it!

Thank you to Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School for hosting us — we can’t wait to visit again!

🎬✨ Movie & Pajama Day in the Kinder Room! 🍿🛌

Today was all about coziness and fun in the Kinder Room at Bayswater Childcare and Kindergarten! Our little movie stars came dressed in their favourite PJs, ready for a relaxing and exciting Movie Day.

Together, we made delicious popcorn and settled in to watch a fun, age-appropriate movie that had everyone smiling, laughing, and fully engaged. It was heartwarming to see the children enjoying the cinema experience with their friends—sharing giggles, popcorn, and comfy blankets.

Special days like these create joyful memories and build a strong sense of belonging and community in our learning environment. 💛

🚒🔥 Fire Truck Fun at Bayswater Childcare and Kindergarten! 🔥

Today was an unforgettable day for our little learners as we welcomed our local firefighters for a special fire truck incursion! 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒

The children were thrilled to explore the big red fire truck, wear mini firefighter hats, and even hold the fire hose with a little help from our firefighter friends! 💦 The brave crew gave a fun and interactive safety demonstration, teaching the children important lessons about fire safety, emergency procedures, and how firefighters help the community.

Our toddlers, pre-kinders, and kindergarten children all had the chance to:
✅ Sit inside the fire truck 🚒
✅ Learn how to “Stop, Drop, and Roll” 🔥
✅ Hear the loud sirens (and cover their ears with excitement!) 👂😄
✅ Ask curious questions – and they had so many!

It was a day filled with laughter, learning, and lots of excitement. Thank you to our amazing firefighters for taking the time to visit and inspire our little heroes in training! ❤️🧯

Today, little friend had so much fun fishing for colourful fish and sorting them into matching tubs! With every catch, there was a big smile and a proud moment of colour matching.
