Homestyle Ferndale Gardens, came together to honour the war veterans and reflect on their courage and sacrifice 🌺

Residents, staff, and visitors gathered for a heartfelt commemorative service, with moments of silence and moving poetry readings. Resident Liz and staff member Di shared beautiful poems, creating a meaningful and reflective atmosphere for all.

At the conclusion of the service, resident Vincent delivered a touching tribute, playing Waltzing Matilda on the harmonica.

A special moment of remembrance, held together in honour of those who have served and continue to serve.

This week at Homestyle Ferndale Gardens, we had the absolute joy of celebrating Ray’s incredible 100th birthday!

Ray marked this special milestone with his daughter Denise, grandson Lachlan, and family friend Geraldine who joined him for a truly meaningful celebration.

Director of Nursing, Lakshmi, and the team also joined in on the celebrations, Ray was especially honoured to receive birthday cards from The King and Queen, the Prime Minister of Australia, and the Governor-General, Ms Samantha Mostyn.

Wishing Ray continued happiness, good health, and many more cherished moments ahead! 🎁

Homestyle Ferndale Gardens residents enjoyed a delightful morning out 🌿☀️

A bus outing to The Greenery in Mt Evelyn was the perfect way to enjoy some fresh air and good company. The morning began with a delicious cuppa, cake and freshly baked scones at Tram Xpresso Café.

Residents then spent time exploring the beautiful indoor giftware and lush greenery, followed by a relaxing stroll through the outdoor nursery. A wonderful day filled with smiles and great company.

Moments like these bring joy, connection, and a chance to enjoy the simple pleasures together.

Celebrating Harmony Week at Homestyle Ferndale Gardens

The team came together for a special staff luncheon, sharing a variety of delicious dishes and celebrating the rich cultural diversity within the team. From tasting each other’s homemade favourites and enjoying great conversation, it was a wonderful moment of connection and togetherness.

St Patrick’s Day Celebrations at Homestyle Ferndale Gardens 🍀

A lively and festive day was enjoyed with a range of fun activities to celebrate St Patrick’s Day! Residents got creative during the craft morning, making shamrock badges, followed by an engaging Irish quiz and trivia session.

The celebrations continued with fantastic live entertainment by Col Perkins, bringing plenty of smiles and great energy to the day. To top it all off, everyone enjoyed a themed afternoon tea featuring delicious green cupcakes and jelly.

A wonderful way to bring residents and staff together for a fun, engaging, and memorable celebration.

Residents and staff at Homestyle Ferndale Gardens welcomed Chinese New Year with vibrant red and gold decorations, traditional music, and a table filled with delicious food and treats to share.

The day included learning about meaningful traditions, from the significance of red envelopes to the story behind the Year of the Horse. A special celebration that brought everyone together and highlighted the beauty of cultural traditions. 🐎🧧

A special moment at Ferndale Gardens, resident Graham was presented with a framed letter from the Chief Commissioner of Victoria Police, Mike Bush, in recognition of more than 35 years of dedicated volunteer service with Neighbourhood Watch Victoria. He was joined by his wife Gwen, children David and Trish, family members, and Neighbourhood Watch representatives for this wonderful occasion.

Since beginning with Neighbourhood Watch in 1990, Graham has played an important role in supporting community safety, writing newsletters, leading local teams, organising events, and working closely with schools and police. His work has helped keep residents informed, connected, and safe.

A humble man who never seeks the spotlight, Graham is a true role model whose commitment to serving others continues to inspire.

Residents at Ferndale Gardens came together to share memories of one of their hobbies. Gardening is an ideal activity being both rewarding and physically active.

Taking advantage of the beautiful day, nothing was going to stop them from getting their hands in the soil and sharing stories of time spent in the garden, some until the late evening, with the end result being such a delight.
