This is a hard post to write.....
Founding You Glow Girl at the beginning of 2020 and the start of the pandemic certainly made for some challenging and exciting times connecting, planning, and delivering our workshops however despite all the challenges that came with the Pandemic we had some awesome Little Glow Girl and You Glow Girl workshops over the last couple of years.
Whilst the pandemic was unpredictable and challenging it also made room for reflection and an opportunity for me to take some to focus on self-care and all the things that I teach the girls around resilience, doing hard things, being kind to yourself and others and making self-care a priority. So, I made the incredibly difficult decision to pull back on Embrace and the Glow girl workshops earlier this year to focus my attention on completing my Associate degree in Vocational Education and Training and have been very fortunate to start work at an amazing Hader Institute of Education teaching what I am passionate about -Mental Health, AOD and Community Services. They have been an incredible support to me, and my family and I am so grateful to be part of their community.
Whilst the pandemic is easing and things feel a little more normal, it hasn’t been that way for my little family. Sadly, and more importantly, it is with a very heavy heart that I write about my beautiful daughter Bella (16) has recently been diagnosed with a very rare form of thyroid cancer and has been battling chronic and persistent health conditions over the last three years of her young life. We have a very promising and positive outcome in terms of her cancer, and she will be having a complete thyroidectomy to remove it. We are very hopeful of a cancer-free outcome for her after surgery but mindful of the fact that she has cancer ☹
My apologies for not posting earlier and wanted to thank each and every one of you for your support, for following our page, and for embracing You Glow Girl and Little Glow Girl. I strongly believe in this work and look forward to the future when time is a little kinder to me and we can get back to facilitating our programs. If you happen to know anyone that may want to facilitate these workshops in the future I would love to connect.
Wholeheartedly
