BRINGING THE NEW YEAR IN🎉

On December 31st, we kicked off the New Year with an unforgettable party for our residents. We were thrilled to have the amazing David Barnes and his singing partner Tracey join us for some lively entertainment. The afternoon was filled with good food and drink, great music, and even an early countdown to the New Year—making it a celebration to remember!

The Board, Management, Staff and Residents of Wongaburra Society thank the Beaudesert CWA very much for the donation of 4 sensory mats for the benefit of our residents living with dementia. The addition of this therapy equipment for our facility is very much appreciated.

🎄Golf Club Seniors Christmas Party - 9/12/2025

Our final Golf Club Seniors of the year was a memorable and enjoyable occasion! David Barnes, as always, delivered the entertaining, adding a lively musical touch to the event.

Congratulations to our Residents, Evonne and Kenny Philpot, for winning the best dressed competition—it's always fun to see creativity in style celebrated.

The raffle prizes surely added an extra layer of excitement and anticipation to the gathering. A special thanks to the golf club ladies for their hard work and dedication, ensuring that each event throughout the year was both enjoyable and successful.

🎄Carols in the Park held by the Chamber of Commerce - 5th December 2025

We attended the Carols in the Park with our residents which is a delightful experience that everyone looks forward to each year. Having reserved front row seats undoubtedly adds to the excitement, allowing everyone to fully immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere. The joy of witnessing local talented performances, singing along to beloved Christmas songs, and recognizing familiar faces from the community 🎶

These moments of shared joy and celebration are cherished memories that highlight the spirit of togetherness and Christmas cheer 🎅🏼

🎁❄️ We hosted our Resident and Family Christmas Parties over 3 days. This season brings joy, giving and happiness.

🎶Our entertainment was provided by the lovely Freiberg Family and Keith Dunn, who set the festive mood.

🎅Arthur Day who deserves a special round of applause for embodying the spirit of Santa Claus, bringing smiles and a touch of wonder to everyone.

👏👏A shoutout to our dedication team of volunteers and the Wongaburra staff, who worked tirelessly to make the gatherings memorable and a special thank you to the Holistic Care Team for their invaluable role in crafting these cherished moments for both residents and their loved ones.

Happy Hour Friday was truly a memorable one, featuring the incredible talents of our local entertainer, Susie Colley 🎼🎤

Susie captivated the audience with her fantastic voice, leaving everyone eager for her return. The atmosphere was filled with joy and laughter as we also celebrated our end-of-month November birthdays 🥳

Wacky Wednesdays - Full of smiles

Our amazing staff and volunteers brought a little magic to Wongaburra by dressing up as their favourite characters from books and movies! We spotted Tinkerbell, Alice in Wonderland, Mrs Claus, and yes — even Where’s Wally/Wanda hiding amongst the fun. Our residents absolutely loved it — and let’s just say we were stopped for photos all day long! Such a fun and joyful day for everyone!

Our residents had an absolute blast rolling, shaping, and decorating their festive creations with all the colourful sprinkles. And of course, the best part—enjoying their delicious cookies with a warm cuppa ☕and plenty of laughter and conversation.
