I'm making a few changes to simplify my life and I just don't feel I'm doing justice to this vision. I'm going to focus on posting all things food and medicine over at my Farmacy Co page and combining my websites to make it all easier to manage.

As the farm establishes over the next 12 months and I am busier with growing, harvesting, establishing our food forest and all the other things that life throws at us, like teenagers and a day job (eek!). The FarmacyCo page will become more like a journal of my journey towards self sufficiency and micro herb farming on my 2 acres of unceded Waywurru land.

There is so much in my day that I would love to share like knowledge of the plants, how they grow, how to work with them and how we can honour them in our every day life. So for now, I'll be moving away from this page and posting more about my Farmacy Garden over at FarmacyCo, I do hope you join me there.

Very excited for one of the first mainland deliveries of Haksap plants also known as Honey Berries.

They will be a great addition to the food Forrest, planting is starting this winter finally after a slow start.

The Haskap Berry (Lonicera caerulea) is a member of the honeysuckle family and is sometimes referred to as the Blue Honeysuckle though it has to be said the shrub bears no resemblance to the honey suckle creeper found in Australian gardens.

It is known as the Haskappu Berry in Japan, Haskaps in Canada, Camerise in Quebec and Honey Berry in North America.

The name Haskappu means ‘’little presents on the end of branches” because they’re regarded as being delightful to eat – and are quite unlike any other fruit or berry. The taste is somewhere between a raspberry and a blueberry with a hint of black currant.

So many things take time. The tractor needed fixing and didn’t get done in time for last years planting, a water source was due to be drilled last week but got delayed until the end of months. The hoop house needs to be pulled down at its current home and transported to the new home.

My backyard in the interim rental looks like a full blown nursery of pots with all of my plants (over 100 fruit, nut, herb and shrubs) scattered in little clusters around the yard.
