It's National Stroke Week! 🩺🧠

Want to know how to spot a stroke? Just remember… F.A.S.T.!

A stroke is a serious medical condition where blood flow to part of the brain is interrupted, but knowing the signs can help save lives!

The Stroke Foundation suggests using the F.A.S.T. test to remember the key signs:

⏩ Face - Check their face. Is their smile uneven or mouth drooping?

⏩ Arms - Can they lift both arms easily?

⏩ Speech - Is their speech slurred or hard to understand?

⏩ Time - Time is of the essence! If you notice any of these signs, call 000 right away. 🕒🚑

June is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month and we would like to help raise awareness around Bowel Cancer - the second most deadliest type of cancer in Australia.

It claims the lives of approximately 5200 people every year but can be treated if detected early.

The risk increases with age and people between the age of 50 to 74 are at a higher risk.

Some simple lifestyle changes to lower your cholesterol:

💪 Eat less saturated fat such as cakes, butter, coconut oil etc
💪 Eat food high in fibre
💪 Stay physically active

Protect yourself from biters!

Use repellents and wear long pants and long-sleeved tops.

Mild and local reactions to a mosquito bite include:

👉 Redness
👉 Swelling
👉 Burning pain
👉 Itching

Treat the affected area by:

👉 Applying an ice pack
👉 Cleaning it with water
👉 Taking a painkiller or antihistamine if need be

Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a common condition that affects 1 in 10 women and girls.

Women with PCOS have larger ovaries with or without cysts.
It is caused due to a hormonal imbalance, the body producing more levels of the male hormones.

This impacts the menstrual cycle and causes other symptoms that can vary from person to person, but some common ones include:
