Tis the season! This year we are supporting Friends with Dignity for the festive Season.

Did you know that Domestic violence affects 1 in 4 women and 1 in 14 men in Australia (pmc.gov.au). 2 in 5 Australian children are also exposed to domestic violence (acms.au).

Friends with Dignity provides safe, welcoming homes and practical support to help survivors of domestic violence rebuild their lives.

Women aged 50 and over should consider regular bone density checks in discussion with their GP, to detect osteoporosis early and prevent fractures. Bone density scans, such as a DXA scan, measure bone strength and are crucial for managing bone health effectively.

Early screening helps improve treatment outcomes and maintain mobility and independence. If you have risk factors like menopause, family history, or previous fractures, talk to your GP about getting tested sooner. For most women, starting screening at age 50 to 65 is recommended.

Our ears are an important part of our body, not only for hearing, but for balance and coordination.

You may not think about your ears and ear health very often, however taking good care of them is important.

Ear wax may not be a topic we openly discuss, however if you are experiencing problems with ear wax build up, your GP will be able to assist. In some cases, removal may be recommended with microsuction (a gentle suction unit).
