Palliative Care Australia provided a valuable thought-provoking discussion on Thursday regarding the importance of communication and knowledge sharing by medical and health professionals. Significant , perhaps even transformative, insights for anyone working or dealing with palliative care, death and grieving.

Are you a carer or know someone who's a carer? The contribution of carers to their families, communities, and our country is invaluable. There are thousands of Australians caring for loved ones every single day. It's a rewarding but challenging role.

This watch the stories of people who have walked in the same shoes. 'Live the life you please' boasts a treasure trove of incredible stories captured from all around Australia and is now available to rent and watch for a small fee ($7 - $12).

Narrator Simon Waring brings his own families experience to this, but along the way you will also meet Lance and Cecile and their MND story, David and Alice and their life with dementia, and Julie and Al and their story which has become known as ‘the husband in the handbag'.

Rent now and watch it over this weekend 👉 https://ow.ly/luKH50PYRlc Moonshine Agency

A little reminder to talk to our loved ones about how we want to breathe our last breath.

Perhaps then we’ll be better able to ask for what we need and to give it to others.. so we can have moments like these ✨

She said, “Don't call the doctor, I want to fall asleep peacefully, with your hand in mine.”

He told her about the past, how they met, their first kiss. They didn't cry, they smiled. They didn't regret anything, they were grateful. Then, she repeated softly, 'I love you forever!' He returned her words, gave her a soft kiss on the forehead. She closed her eyes and fell asleep peacefully with her hand in his.
Love is really all that matters because everyone comes into this world with nothing other than love and leaves with nothing other than love. Think about it. Profession, career, bank account… our goods are just tools, nothing more. Everything stays here. So just love….Love those that really love you. Love, as if there was nothing more important in your life. ❤️

• I’ve been seeing this image inspired by therapist Lois Tonkin’s concept of “growing around grief”. Though this is an older idea, it is one that seems to be making the reddit/social media rounds lately. Tonkin developed the idea after speaking with a woman who lost a child. The woman explained that she had initially believed that with time her grief would shrink. She explained that what she thought happened instead was that her grief stayed the same size, while her life continued to grow around it. Thought it was a concept worth sharing, in case you haven’t seen it. Though this is Tonkin’s concept, this is not her original not image, but I like the jars they used instead of just the circles she used. I like that the jars give this idea of the space that exists to be filled in our lives along with the grief. This version was created by the pet loss site ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
