So grateful and privileged to have .rooney007 present this weekend to staff on all things knee: ACL management including healing options, imaging, acute knee presentations and chronic management. Jane’s career and specialisation in knees are world renowned and it was such a pleasure to have her visit. This month is Movember - Men's Health Awareness Month!

The team here at Sapphire Coast and Snowy Mountains Physiotherapy are stepping up to raise awareness and funds for Men's Health - specifically prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and su***de prevention. We are very proud to continue our partnership with the rural athlete development organisation; South East Sports Academy (SESA).

Snowy Mountains Physiotherapist Annabel attended the recent Netball Academy Challenge in Wollongong as team physio. This was the final tournament for the SESA girls who have been developing their skills in training camps throughout the year. It has been so great to see their development on and off the court.

This week we welcome Shogo to our Snowy Mountains Physiotherapy team. Shogo joins our Physio’s Adam, Renee, Andrea and Annabel in Cooma and Jindabyne.

Shogo completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy in Japan and a Masters of Physiotherapy in Canberra.

He has experience working with sporting teams and is looking forward to helping patients in Cooma and Jindabyne with all their physio needs.

It's Grand Final week here on the Far South Coast and the excitement is at an all time high in our clinics!

We would like to wish all of our local sporting teams the best of luck for a safe and successful Grand Final. Special mention to our Sapphire Coast Physio staff who are taking part this weekend. Alana and Stella will take the field for the mighty Bega-Tathra Kangaroos Ladies AFL team in Narooma on Saturday. Emma will be supporting the Merimbula Diggers Senior AFL team as team physio, also in Narooma on Saturday. Kirsty will be running on for the Wolumla Ladies Soccer team when they take on the Tathra Sea Eagles in Tathra on Sunday.

Here at Sapphire Coast and Snowy Mountains Physiotherapy we have been honoured to support local sporting teams and individuals through both sponsorship and providing expert treatment and support to those unfortunate to sustain injury, working together to try and get you all back in the game as soon as possible.

This year, the theme is "Say yes to you" and each day the event is focusing on a different health topic to help women prioritise their health and well being.

At Sapphire Coast Physiotherapy we are pleased to have specially trained Women's Health physiotherapists in Tegan and Emma who can assess your Women's Health condition and tailor a program - specifically for you - to cure or manage your condition.

Are you doing Pelvic Floor exercises? Unknowingly, 50% of women are doing pelvic floor exercises incorrectly, so receiving little benefit...sometimes even worsening things. Tegan and Emma can check and monitor how effective your exercising is.

At Sapphire Coast Physiotherapy, we have been very lucky to have acquired the services and “luck of the Irish” in travelling locum Emma Donaghey. Emma has already made quite an impression in the area, quickly securing a spot on the Merimbula Diggers AFL team as team physio and game day sports physio alongside her fiancé Terrence who was a very welcome addition to the playing side.

Emma has recently returned from Sydney, where she completed training in APA Level 2 Women’s Health. Emma is now available in both our Bega and Merimbula clinics for Women’s Health appointments.

Emma studied physiotherapy at Ulster University, Northern Ireland. She went on to complete a Master's degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine. Emma grew up in rural Ireland and is passionate about providing quality services to rural areas.

Emma has worked with a range of sports teams, including providing physiotherapy support for a top league soccer team for 3 seasons and at the UEFA Women's Champions League in Finland and Romania.

Her clinical interests include Women’s Health, musculoskeletal and sports injury management, exercise rehabilitation, and Pilates.

Emma is a qualified Pilates instructor through the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute and is trained in dry needling techniques to complement her treatment approach.

Outside the clinic, Emma enjoys Crossfit, going for a run, or taking a dip in the sea.

Have you ever thought about including Clinical Pilates into your exercise program? Physiotherapy prescribed exercises can benefit a range of conditions including lower back pain, upper back pain, neck pain, sporting injuries, pre and post natal, post surgery - spinal, shoulder, knee, hip, fibromyalgia and postural conditions, improved muscle tone and flexibility.

Our wonderful physio Alana Tokic has recently relocated to our Merimbula Clinc and is DMA Clinical Pilates trained and is now available for initial assessments and creating individualised Pilates Programs just for you. Our Merimbula Clinic's onsite gym is fully equipped with Pilates machines and equipment and can be used either under supervision via an appointment with a physio or by obtaining a gym membership allowing you to book a time to use the gym at your convenience.
